This review is for jewelry appraisal. I had my wedding/​engagement ring appraised in order to get insurance for it, and Fine Jewels gave me a good price for the appraisal. Apparently appraisals are normally done on a % value basis, however one other jeweler had quoted a flat price (I got 3 quotes in all, and one jeweler quoted 1.5% of the value). Fine Jewels agreed to charge a flat fee instead of the normal %. I much preferred the flat price; hello. .. how can you tell how much you’ll be paying otherwise (and the flat rate ended up being a lot lower than 1.5%!)? The service was prompt and helpful. The manager physically showed me the GIA number on the side of my diamond (with a magnifying glass, you can see it). The shop itself isn’t fancy, but then again, none of them at Hatton Garden look fancy. Fine Jewels wasn’t stinky, like one of the other shops I visited. Yay, Fine Jewels!
