I read other reviews which were not as good, but having traveled all over the world, my expectations for a restaurant this size and price point, I thought it deserved a 4 start rating. Service was excellent. Their crispy duck and dim sum are their specialities and were delicious. Some of the main dishes were more of the American/Chinese variety but very fresh, sizzling hot and well seasoned. Price was very reasonable and a great spot to eat before or after a show.

I saw a number of others were not happy with this restaurant but some were. We met an English colleague(I am American) and friend and his family for dinner. This restaurant is in Chinatown near one of the entrances, and is a short walk from Leicester square and not that far from Covent Garden. So you could have dinner here and then catch one of the shoes in the West End(which for English folks is The theatre district of London like Broadway in New York City). My friends wife is originally from China and she ordered away. We had Dim Sum of various varieties and all were good. Wr had Peking duck ad a main dish and it was good. We had a variety of other dishes and all were good. I saw others write it was expensive, I cant comment as my friend bought dinner(I took him to Put In Bay Ohio and bought dinner/drinks and he said he was repaying but I think I owe some here…,). I have eaten food in various cities/locations in China and generally prefer American Chinese, I would classify this was less authentic and more like the Chinese food in the US, so maybe tailored to English/western taste. But this is based on one visit. The environment was nice and inviting and seemed like it fit well in Chinatown. The service was steady. Overall worth a try.

This place is extremely terrible and unbelievably overpriced. We only came here because we needed a quick bite before going to a proprietary broadway show. I had the«Bruce Lee dumplings,» which were extremely dry and the soup looked and tasted like chemicals that I use when I try to poison my lab partner. I also tried the«Ichiro Suzuki pancakes» in conjunction with the«John Cho noodles.» I was very hungry so I also got the«Harry Shum Jr french fries» and«Jon ‘The Man’ Teo onion rings.» My gf also ordered the«Kei Nishikori sausages» and«Jeremy Lin sliders.» I finished with the«Brenda Song raspberry pie» for desert. It was almost as bad as the roles that she chooses as a struggling actress.

Liked the place. Could kick back and relax while enjoying some of the food I was missing from Hong Kong. The food was OK, service courteous and we got a complementary desert thanks to my Chinese colleague.

The bill was ridiculously high. The food was average at best. With so many other Chinese restaurants in the immediate area this place needs a reality check!

Went there for dinner and karaōke on a Thursday evening, seemed busy but not hectic. It had an old school traditional kind of décor feel to the place, which makes a nice change from going to the regular contemporary themes that most Chinese restaurants are going for these days. They have 3 Karaōke rooms, a wide variety of songs from all languages and are fairly up to date with all the songs but don’t have certain oldies. we had crispy pancake duck for starters which was very good, the roast chicken in the mains was a little dry but overall it was a pleasant enjoyable meal and the service was decent.

Not bad if you are hungry, want an attractively ornate, nice looking place to stop and grab a Chinese meal quickly en route to somewhere else. Service was friendly enough(sitting outside, wanted to take a credit card as insurance, which is understandable I suppose but doesn’t start things off brilliantly), reasonably quick and the food arrived really speedily(how did they know what would be ordered? Surely not pre-prepared and merely heated up?) Food was OK, tasty — the chicken had that reconstituted texture, definitely not recently diced fresh from the bone but not bad really. Good atmospheric experience right in the heart of bustling central London tourist land.

This was my second favourtie chinese in China town, but with the lamentable passing of ChinaChina(so good they named it twice) I guess that this dark red, good value place has been bumped up a notch. I first came here when I was dating a BBC(that’s British-born Chinese, and nothing to do with the broadcaster) guy he recommended it as a place his dad(a chinese cook) said used good ingredients. I haven’t been disappointed when I’ve gone. The ingredients are indeed good, and cooked, if not to perfection, then to a high standard. The décor is typically chinese, right down to the paw-waving cats, but the last time I went in I was surprised to find it decorated for halloween, which I don’t normally think of as a chinese festival! The service is better by Western standards than a lot of similar places in China town, where they stick to their culture of fast is better than friendly; feng shui manages to strike the West-East balance almost perfectly.

Its hard nto to notice Feng SHui inn when you are in Chinatown because of the deep red extrior and the dark mysterious looking interior. However, form the inside, the place looks old and slightly dirty. We were sat next to the staff door, on a ridiculously small table despite asking for a bigger one, because ‘bigger one for bigger groups’ there wasnt enough space on out table for all the food we ordered. We ordered 2 corn soups, but only one came. WHen we pointed that out they said that it was a mistke and brought a second bowl 15 minutes later. The mongolian crispy roast lamb wrap we had was just skin and fat of lamb, with is not very good value for money. Their roast duck was ok but the skin is anything but crispy(which it should be). The chicken dish was good and well cooked and the same goes for their beef, which was succulent yet tender. However, the stir fried beef noodles which we ordered hardly contain any beef,(just a couple of miserable slices), so that wasnt worth the money we paid for it at all. Also, we ordered for it to be hor fun instead of the vermicelli. When the vermicelli came we pointed that out and the waitress pulled a very long face before going to the kitchen to exchange it. Also, Oyster sauce seems to be the main ingredient in every dish, which is disappointing. verdict: like all chinese restaurants, there are certain dishes which are good and others which you will regret ordering. Its best to find out a restaurant’s signature dishes before going. personally, i wouldnt recommend this restaurant to my friends, as there are definitely better restaurants on Gerrard street, albeit slightly pricier.

Now I can’t say for myself but my cousin promises me this is the best Chinese in town and I can say it aint half bad. Duck for starters, followed by crispy chicken, steak and ginger, and lemon chicken — with a mix of boiled and egg fried rice, very tasty and filling! Not the best Chinese I’ve ever had but very very good.

Walking down the main street of Chinatown packed with restaurants, trying to find a cozy little place where to have a nice dinner in two, Feng Shui Inn proved to be a choice by instinct. Feminine instinct, I might add. It drives you in with a décor embellished in red distinctive colour of China. The whole feeling of this restaurant evokes Chinese culture. The decorations inside are so very authentic. As we walk in the place seems to be quite full, yet a friendly waitress shows us the way to a quiet little table for two. Always afraid of glancing into a Chinese menu we finally have no difficulty making our choice for one of the menus for two people. It contains soup, duck rolls, stir fries in sufficient amounts(on friendly prices). The wine list perfectly complements the dishes and our choice of red wine proves to be the right decision. All night long –as you end up spending more time there than you expected-the service is attentive, warm, patient. Feng Shui Inn –bit mysterious, bit different –yet familiar –is a pleasant little restaurant for those loving Chinese cuisine –where you have the opportunity to discover new tastes and agonize with chopsticks. Never give up! Practise makes you better.

Hier in Chinatown gibt es extrem viele und teure Restaurants. Very british und typisch teuer.
