Well, I give up. This lock shop is very close to my home, so it would be very convenient to use their services, but from my experience they are quite useless.
I had a limited time to get a duplicate key, but the woman behind the counter told me that «he’s not here, come back another time.» When I told her I need it now, she didn’t have a suggestion. On the way out I noticed that they close at 4:00 p.m., which just begins to seem like I should not bother again, perhaps just head up to the Whitechapel Market and find a stall that duplicates keys. Probably much cheaper too.
On a previous visit, I had to return a lock that stopped working at my gym. (It was a combination lock and the number wheels froze up. I had the gym manager bring his bolt cutters to cut it off the locker). The lock was only a couple months old, and from a well-​known brand, so I figured it was a no-​brainer to just take it back and receive a replacement. They looked at me like I was crazy. They would not return it, and all I got was a suggestion to return it (at my cost) to their supplier.
