Delhi Brasserie

We didn’t feel like going far from the hotel in miserable weather, so ended up here one late afternoon. It didn’t disappoint – dishes were all fresh and well prepared, one chicken dish in particular I’ve never seen elsewhere (that I of course can’t remember) was so delicious I had to slap my husband away. Do yourself a favor and be adventurous – don’t just stick with chicken tikka masala. You’ll thank me!

I give the food 5 stars for flavor but I take away 1 star for the crappy, cheap decoration in the restaurant (literally there were a (giant vase) full of foam peanuts in the vase of «flowers» when you walk in.. And another star taken for the service, the waiter-​I didn’t catch his name– was very cold when I asked for the € 8.99 3 course special.. He acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about (when that’s what got me in the joint in the first place!-advertisement on a menu billboard in the middle of the street outside their doorstep!). And who doesn’t ask what the customer wants to drink. I literally got my food and he still didn’t ask, it was so spicy. Luckily I had some water in my bottle stashed in my purse.. I don’t know why I tipped him either.. Isn’t the purpose of tipping to tell the person they are doing a good job? If he had given me a smile or warm welcome it would have made all the difference. That place (sad to say) would never survive in LA! I guess I’m a spoiled American. I definitely will not be going back here. :(

Pour commencer, faites vous à l’idée que les restos sont très chers à Londres !! Sinon, redécouverte d’une carte dans un resto anglais… Starters, etc… Il nous a fallu un peu de temps pour nous y retrouver. Le serveur a fini par bien nous conseiller et nous avons pris différents curry au poulet et à l’agneau. Très bons, mais aussi très épicés. Un vin néo-​zélandais accompagne tout cela de très belle manière. Par contre oubliez le café à la fin du repas, les Anglais né connaissent pas et vous servent une éspèce de liquide sans goût.
Néanmoins cet «indien» reste une bonne expérience

It’s is a very nice and comfortable Indian restaurant, easily reached by buses, and the underground station Gloucester Road is also nearby.
The food is really good — some very good — and the service is very friendly and eager to help.
I walked in there after I was still hungry and deeply disappointed and disgusted with the food in the highly praised Masala Zone (round the corner in Earl’s Court Rd.).
Here I felt happy and I was given their ‘Privilege Gold Card’ immediately, which entitles me to a 10% (paying cash even 20%) discount there and in their Soho branch in 44, Frith Street.
