Really great and friendly wine bar. A nice break from the pubs everywhere.

Wow, this is the place to go for rare and great Italian wine. Ask for Lorenzo, he’s great! Food selection is not huge but it’s great!

I was here as part of a 12-person group; we had a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant has an upstairs which is mainly a bar and the downstairs which is the dining area, but it does have its own booze bar too; so your waiter doesn’t have to go too far to fetch some of their yummy drinks. They have a very good selection of wines and the barman does an excellent job on mixing some delicious drinks. I had the hemingway daiquiri, once and then a few times too many. Other drinks on the table included their Special Mojito, which has apple juice; the Cubans would have them name the drink something else, but for us it hit the spot. For food, they have few choices on their menu but just about everything is oh so tasty! We had a few of the veg and non-veg sharing platters; their meats are close to the real Italian fresh flavours. For mains, we had the pork, bigoli and other dishes but what I remember most is that there were several ummmms on the table after the first bites. I found their pricing a tad steep but then look at where they are located. That said I’d run back here for a good drinks night and some tasty treats.

A nice central place but the sheer rude service makes me never want to go back. Congratulations Degò you have earned my first one star review. This from previously being billed as my friend’s favourite wine bar. We had a large table reserved in the empty underground restaurant for my friend’s birthday. Their menu had no platters or finger food and the doormen very rudely informed two(perfectly presentable) guests who arrived at 8pm that this was«not a club but a bar» and refused them entry despite knowing we had a private party downstairs. At this point we course left. Remember Degò you may be a little more private and served good wine but look after our friends or we won’t come back.

what a pleasant surprise! it’s very unassuming and i was a little skeptical based on the lack of traffic i’ve seen during my commute to/from work but i was completely won over when the server removed a panel of wood from the table to insert a wine bucket. i want one of those at home. forget a fire pit. get a wine bucket pit. meat and cheeseboard + chilled wine is just the remedy to combat muggy london.

I stopped in here for a glass of wine after work the other day. It’s hidden just back from Oxford Circus, but within a few minutes of the tube, just in front of Marketplace. New to the area, it’s usually pretty quiet in there, which is nice. I’m not sure they’re doing so well however, with high prices(and they really are hig, h with wine starting at £6.50/glass) and a location that doesn’t do so well for footfall. The staff were lovely though, and very knowledgeable about their wines. The one we had two glasses of(an Argentinian rioja) was delicious. Though we didn’t eat, the platters of specialist meats looked really nice, and a venture downstairs to the very plush restaurant below peeked my interest even further. That was a fair few months ago now though, and have I been back? Not yet…
