David Clulow

I came to David Clulow because I’m fortunate enough to get free eye tests with them at work. I knew they were rather on the expensive side and so expected the service to reflect this. On arrival, having suspected that the test would conclude I needed specs, I tried on a few pairs (as you do), only to be given somewhat disapproving looks by the staff. I was also made to wait for 20 minutes past my scheduled time even though I had booked my appointment in advance.
The lady who conducted the test was great and very thorough. As I was so late in initially, I had to leave without choosing my glasses but was told I could pop back in any time as they would keep my prescription filed. I went the following Thursday (having called to let them know) and it seems they had lost my prescription. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that ‘it may still be on the system but not printed out yet’ I waited 2 more days and when I called again, I was told the prescription had been lost but that I could have another eye test and wouldn’t be charged!
The whole experience put me off purchasing from here as the staff weren’t very apologetic and refused to offer any discount off the frames (which are very expensive) for the inconvenience caused to me.
I should have gone to Specsavers… and I did!
