Damascu Bite just seems like a place no one should visit unless it’s in the early AM and you are more or less wasted. Not sure it’s actually open that late though. I have friends who are obsessed with this place — a must-go for post-drinking affairs, someone always brings it up on the walk home from Hoxton and Shoreditch. And I always end up getting pulled along, order a chicken wrap or something, take two bites, then hand it off to one of my more needy friends. For me, it’s never a good idea. But the masses seem to love it and there’s usually a line out the door. Except I do love those fries(chips) with ketchup and garlic mayonnaise(which is still kind of a gross concept as a ketchup-born American)… But it’s delicious. I’ve probably finished off a helping by the time I get home and regret it just as quickly. It’s a like/hate relationship.

Wonderful people and wonderful service. Best kebab in the East End just have a seat and relax because they take their time and make things very fresh. Kind owner gave a chair and a glass of water. Just a a fabulous place. Mixed kebab is great!

damascu bite is another great no-frill restaurant in the heart of brick lane. they do north-african food, whether it is syrian or moroccan(i cannot really tell). the décor is accordingl moroccan, the place is roomy and never overcrowed… all this in spite the place is firly small. the menu is very straightforward with kebap, rice dishes, shish, falafel, and of course hummous. this latter is unbeatable and so is the shish, available in chicken and lamb. the prices are reasonable for being a fast food. 3,50 for hummous and 6 for the kebaps, as far as i remember. not alcohol in the premises, don’t be silly to ask a moroccan for it. you know the ethos of these guys, stoned all day through but not much into alcohol. like european the other way around… funny world

Syrian fast-food place, offering chicken and lamb doner kebap, shish kebap and falafels. Friendly service, no long lines during city lunch hour. Open until fairly late. The quality is however not that great. During busy times the chicken doesn’t get much grilling time and during not so busy times it’s oozing grease and the meat is dried out.
