Been 4 times now and always been happy with the service, food and price. Well cooked, well seasoned dishes in surroundings that are better than the standard Brick Lane fare round the corner. Definitely recommended. Oh — and smile at the staff and they smile back…

I was charged 3 pounds for«still» water that was suspiciously at my table in a re-used glass bottle. Strike 1. The food took ages(20+ minutes) even though they weren’t that busy. Strike 2. When I finally recieved this«food» it was insanely disappointing. Burnt paneer and a butterbean/spinach dish that contained so much ghee that it coated my plate. Strike 3. All in all a terrible experience. Btw, the menu has that«too many options» thing going on that leads me to believe they don’t do anything well.

The food is just fantastic! Perfectly prepared, delightfully seasoned. and nicely presented The menu has a remarkable variety of unique dishes. The last point is of note. Some restaurants of this genre seem to have three sauces, 4 meats and they mix and match. I saw dishes and preparations on the menu that I had not seen(admittedly, I am from the US). The Bangladeshi dishes with butter beans was to die for and new to me. Why not 5 stars? My only complaint is that the wait staff was a bit too accommodating. that may seem to be a funny complaint, but I needed some direction on menu. The waiter was not really willing to give an opinion — something I value. I suspect this is a cultural issue, but to someone with an unsophisticated understanding of the cuisine… their opinion matters. Will I go again? You betcha!!! Will I recommend it to others? You betcha!!! By the way, it is off the usual tourist path, it is very convenient to get to. It is a half block from the Aldgate East tube stop. Don’t let the location keep you away… you will not be disappointed

The restaurant is actually located on the corner of brick lane and Whitechapel road(so much closer to Aldgate East). The food there is fantastic, been there several times now and they haven’t disappointed me a single time. Very good place to be!
