Christ Church Spitalfields Venue

A true city landmark and a beautiful building to boot. This is one of those places that you can’t help but ooh and ah at a bit as you’re passing.

By day, an all singing all dancing church, but by night, an all singing all dancing venue! Well perhaps not exactly like that but my understanding is that this is still a working church, that loans it’s space out when it’s not in «professional» use.
I have been here for a vintage fair I think twice, it may actually be just the once, but I have floated by this place so often I honestly can’t remember. It’s that kind of space too, where you feel like you may have been there before just because the layout is rather inviting. Saying that, I haven’t seen it dressed in it’s full churchie regalia, and perhaps I wouldn’t like it quite as well if it were.
To the far right are the stone winding stairs that lead to the downstairs bathrooms. It feels a little creepy as you descend from the noise into the silence. Not knowing how far down the cold corridor you need to travel to arrive at your destination.
Will you return from the frozen beyond and was that person you passed on the way there, really a real person? Mwah ha ha!
