The moment you see this beautiful coffee shop you know that if you ever dreamed about one that’s probably as real as it would look like. Probably the only coffee shop within a mile radius, everything from the antique tinfoil cigarettes boxes that hold the sugar cubes to the modern-looking fresh salads, or the home made cakes and the cable broadband wireless — everything exudes care to details and quality. Tastes vary and there are many dishes to choose from, but one thing is sure: this is a place that you’ll want to visit again. And probably again. And today they’re opening what sounds like the flagship of their thriving business(how many coffee shops have the owner and their kids welcoming their customers on the premises and explaining what’s going on?) — a restaurant in the heart of the City(Hoxton). If this shop is anything to go by I can’t wait to visit their restaurant. Good luck!

Superb. We go there most weeks, and it’s just always great. Worth traveling for. Even something simple is always delicious and it feels good; by which I mean well made with quality ingredients. The coffee is always excellent. The owner now has a cook book which I’ve given as a gift but now need to get my own copy of. There is now a breakfast menu. I was a little dubious about eggs with yoghurt and raisins but it was SOGOOD. A touch or orange zest and served with cinnamon pita, but still a savory meal.

A really rather good little tucked away café with great service(just how they all should be). I had a cake to-go so aside from seeing the nice interior I can’t say much about the actual café. My pear muffin was well-baked and reasonably priced, but the pear flavour was lacking slightly(it’s a delicate flavour — there were plenty of chunks of pear though!). Definitely check it out if you want to get away from things(although it may be quite busy at the start and end of the school day — being located immediately next to a large secondary school!).

Wonderful place: great food, great service, personable and very friendly. The highlight though is the food: invention with respect of the ingredients. Strongly recommended. Fun crockery and glasses as well.

The ubiquitous coffee shop this is not. Every ounce of KrisKitch shouts«hand-crafted». From the fabulous furniture — chat to the owner about where he sourced the butcher’s block, the heavy wooden work benches and the retro chairs(it’s astonishing that he didn’t keel over after paying for the re-upholstery). To the delectable baked cakes and breads. Everything just feels so tactile and earthy. There’s lovely light streaming in the huge front windows if you’re sitting inside. Or sit out in the front in the sun. There are brollies in the summer and blankets in the autumn. Pointer — have the tea. Even if you feel like coffee, have the tea! Honestly it’s an experience. An olive-wood board with a selection of painstakingly-sourced ingredients: honey, lemongrass, cardamom, fresh mint, cinnamon stick, the list goes on, and a pot of hot water. Yes, you have the option of using the dull little bag of tea leaves you ordered BUT you’ll be sacrificing your ingenuity and an opportunity to create a flavour-extravaganza. Throw the bag away, you don’t need it! Customers are overwhelmingly mums, grandparents and girlfriends meeting to natter. Recently I sat next to two laptops with people connected to them, but they’re a minority.
