Inexpensive decent quality Chinese. Weird ordering system where you have to fill out a numbered piece of paper, including for drinks. Massive portions. Not the best, and not the worst. Decent which is why the 3 not 4 star rating.

A giant bowl of rich coconutty laksa for just over £5. I don’t think you can really best that. I always stop by here when I’m passing by! The rice and noodle dishes are tasty too, but it’s the laksa that I come back for!

I’ve always passed by this restaurant on my way to Westfield and wanted to try it but never did. Yesterday I was in no hurry and I have been craving for Malaysian fried rice for a few days, so i thought i’d give it a go. I straight ordered the fried rice. OMG! My eyes popped out, the portion was humongous. I looked at the waitress and she just nodded. I asked for extra spicy as well and they did the dish justice. It really delicious. It had plenty of prawns and pork and right amount of spice. It was soo good that a lady saw me enjoying my dish so much that she walked in and ordered the same dish and she told me that. Yes, the service isn’t restaurant standard, you won’t get smiley service and the décor isn’t that great as well. But who cares when the food is good and on top of that, less than a fiver!!! I had to pack it for lunch today and can’t wait till 12.15! Go have your dates some other place, go here for value for money Malaysian Fried Rice

Affordable, quick and generous portions. Not amazing, but not bad either. Decent food for cheap.

The veg noodle rise had no taste at all, the service was poor and they chafe you extra for the sauce, pepper and whatever else you might want.

Tasty, cheap and centrally located. One of my favourite places to grab lunch when I’m in the area. Loads of options, fast service and a mixed clientele; there’s always an array of different customers which creates a really cool atmosphere. It is pretty greasy and probably not the highest quality, but who cares?

This is amazing value! I ordered the Malaysian fried rice, char kuey teow and seafood noodles in gravy. All were delicious. My favourite was the rice. The servings are huge so I had plenty to take home in a container. If you’re after quantity and decent quality, this is the place. The décor is basic and service is decent. I would highly recommend this for a good feed. It’s an excellent option for take away. I’m defenitely coming back here!

We ate here yesterday before going to Shepherd’s Bush Empire. We ordered a crispy aromatic duck with pancakes. This was a mistake. It was THE worst crispy duck I’ve ever had! Duck was basically leftovers and gristle. It came to the table off the bone already. Basically, it was like mincecould have been anything in it! There were Chinese people eating inside so I naively thought it would be decent quality. Avoid this restaurant FOODISTERRIBLE!!!

Great Chinese food spot, only downfall is the size of the shop is very small and gets packed very quickly, this place is very busy, but overall a great eating experience, much better than aroma the Chinese buffet across the street

Great place to go for cheap Chinese. The portions are good, the prices are cheap and they do freshly squeezed juices. I usually go for the Malaysian style fried rice when I go, I would definitely recommend it if you are heading to Westfield, avoid the queues and the overpriced food inside the shopping centre

Chop Chop in Shepherds Bush is one of those places that I would go to and afterwards dismiss it as below average, only to go back into a few months later and relive the same experience. The portion and price are probably the only good thing about it. The food can be inconsistent and the ingredients are not always fresh. Today my laksa was very bland and my friend felt the pork in her kway teow tasted off. Ambient wise, definitely not a place to bring your first date to. It gets very chaotic at times and arguments between staff and customers are not unusual. Tables are also very close together. Wait staff can be unprofessional. Being multilingual and fluent in Chinese, I often overhear staff members gossiping or complaining about customers in Chinese. Makes you wonder what they say about you behind your back. But I guess it is the same everywhere you go.

A real gem in Shepherds Bush! This place is fast, cheap, efficient and reminds me of living in Asia! You get what you pay for and more: portions are as large as anyone would need(I’m often taking half of it away with me, as it’s enough for two meals for moi) and I sometimes buy an extra takeaway of their Singapore Noodles for lunch the next day because they — are — so — good !!! I’m in there if need a noodle soup for hangover cure or just a pep-me-up comfort food. Quick for lunch. Fast and friendly for pre-movie meal with a friend. Fun and light-hearted location for cheap, chatty meal with girlfriends. Shepherds Bush is known for it’s cheap, honest, multi-cultural foodie places like Chop Chop. They have another outlet in Kings Cross too that I sometimes go to. Worth checking out, as Chop Chop has been on my monthly cheap-eats list for ages.

Easily summarized… large portions… cheap…really cheap… Kings Cross… soup lacks flavor… curry is decent… ribs tasted old and mangy… noodles were ok at best… if you want cheap food at low prices and large portions, chop chop is the place to go… I don’t hate it and i dont love it. Stayed at St Pancras Renaissance for a few days and this place was closest to Chinatown on a late night.

I would not say it’s amazing, but the portions are huge and cheap. The decoration is a bit depressing and the service not extremely friendly. The expect you to leave ASAP. Please, do not choose this place for a first date, but for a hungry day when you do not want to spend much.

A great, efficient noodle bar. I agree with others when they say skip the starters and focus on the noodles. I find a good bowl of soup makes everything better on a dreary afternoon. It’s not the Ritz(it’s not even Wagamama), but it’s quality.

Wow! You want fast, cheap Asian cuisine? You got it in Shepherds Bush! This place rocks AND rolls. What you won’t get – fancy, friendly service great plating awesome décor What you will get – Awesome authentic Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean, and Thai noodles. This place is as good as it gets for lunch or dinner if you are on a budget or just want something quick and good. The food quality is awesome to quite awesome and the flavors are authentic. Beer or soft drinks are served. Think about it – 3.90 quid for a noodle dish that will fill you up but not kill your gut. I just ate the Singapore Laksa which is a fish soup(I got into an argument with the server since she didn’t consider it seafood despite all protein being from the sea. Please see the list of things you won’t get above) I go here at least once a week for the great cheap food. Especially if it was a late night at the office.

You know what you’re going to get at chop chop but I have to advise that you stick to the noodle soups and main courses. The starters aren’t much cheaper but it is blindingly obvious that the ingredients are cooked from frozen with dishes like the butterfly prawns and all the taste’s gone out of them! Great place to fill up pre or mid session but if your palette’s unclouded by brew you’ll realise why it’s so cheap!

If you are looking for a cheap and tasty and quick meal near Shepherd’s Bush, then this Chinese caff will hit the spot. Turn right out of the station, and it’s just there, ready to satisfy all your noodly cravings. Service is rapid, and via a lottery-ticket style chit where you mark the number of the dish you want. The food was fine — a little greasy, but if you’re going out for noodles you’re obviously after a bit of a grease-fix anyhow, and portions were good. It’s also ludicrously cheap: two of us ate a starter, two noodle dishes and beers for under £15 in total. The staff were arguing with another customer about what she’d ordered when we got there. Although they were being pretty polite, I couldn’t help but think it would be easier for everyone if they’d just shut her up by cooking her what she said she had wanted rather than arguing with her. Noodles and rice aren’t expensive, after all. Heckling on the other tables aside, the experience was a good one. Chop Chop is also right opposite funky bar/venue-in-a-converted-public-toilet Ginglik, so the ideal place to scarf some tasty noodles here before going and seeing some live music or comedy(before the council fill the venue with concrete.)
