Catherine Parkinson

I have always been fascinated by mosaics and had been on the lookout for a good teacher for several years when I came across Catherine’s weekend workshops.
I was drawn in by her own practice which is more fine art than crafts. In my initial course which took place on four consecutive Saturdays (two half, two full days) I learned the basics of the main techniques and a bit of history. However, the greatest inspiration are the beautiful pieces on display around the workshop. And the materials which are provided as part of the course fees — any colour you’d wish for with materials ranging from glass and ceramic tiles to marble and broken china!
Catherine does not just teach but also produces amazing work, both for sale from her studio or on a commission basis.
