As I sit here nomming away on my Thyme Time(chicken, rocket, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and cheese) savoury crêpe, I’m thinking to myself, ‘Self, it really wouldn’t matter much what’s in this crêpe. I’d pretty much eat this spicy tomato sauce on –anything-!‘ Hope you’re not in a rush when dining in or picking up takeaway, because these babies take awhile to be served up. Thankfully, I have my Pulse News Reader to keep myself occupied in situations like this. Also, it doesn’t appear that the logistics of takeaway are very seriously considered in advance: my crêpe came in a standard cardboard box, recyclable wooden cutlery was provided, and the tomato sauce came in a paper espresso cup wrapped in cling film. Though it was a lot to juggle(along with my Americano), it was worthwhile. If the sauce had gone directly on top of my food, it would have been a soggy mess by the time I got back to the office. The staff are lovely and shop has massive windows overlooking the street, so at least you get to bathe in beautiful sunlight while you wait. And even though I’m not quite finished with my meal, I’m already full. Not a shabby £7 spent, in my book!

Call me old-fashioned, but I want to eat my crêpe off of my hands — or at least I want to hold it in my hands and then suck out the savory/sweet goodness! Here at Catch Up! they prepare the crêpe in the usual fashion, but instead of sliding it into one of the cone-shaped containers, they put it in a to-go box and you are then left to eating it with a fork and knife — how boring! Anyway, enough of the complaining: the staff at Catch Up served me up with a good quality crêpes. In fact, I chose the healthy version of pesto, rocket, sun-dried tomato and feta cheese — topped with a creamy tomato sauce. Taste-wise I really couldn’t complain… it was what I expected and what I needed: tasty & filling. What I really appreciated was the fact that the owners were really nice and chatty; in fact, very down-to-earth and you know how much I appreciate that. My verdict: a solid lunch choice for those among you who are fed up with Pret, Eat or Paul.
