Service was good by the man. But one lady was terribly rude, won’t come back because of the service

Food was OK but the service was shocking… There were more than enough staff around to cope with a full restaurant (not packed though and no queues) … But they did not get it right. And their excuse was that it was so busy., shudder to think how they cope with a really busy day

No issues here. Eggs poached just right, good quality ham. Café Americano delish. Clean rest rooms. Personable service. Bright and airy. For Americans looking to have a pleasant breakfast you can’t do much better.
Revised, dropped a star the next day when the server couldn’t get anything right and the poached eggs were overdone.

Envie d’un plat réconfortant et délicieux? Vous êtes au bon endroit ! Carluccios est une «cantine» italienne qui sent bon l’huile d’olive, la tomate fraîche et le gressin.
Des l’entrée on est alléché par la vitrine des desserts et de l’épicerie (car oui Carluccios est aussi une épicerie fine !), et cela continu avec l’ouverture de la carte, riche et variés.
J’ai choisi pour ma part le risotto du jour et chiwi d’amour des tortelinni ricotta /​épinard.
Nos plats étaient très bon (quoi que lui fut un peu déçu de la quantité) et ils furent servis assez rapidement avec promptitude et efficacité.
Ce que nous n’avons pas apprécié c’est le bruit. C’est une cantine comme je le disais. La salle est très grande et très bruyante. Famille, amis, jeune couples, tous se succèdent, table après table, banquette après banquette, et ce joyeux ensemble est assez vivant !
Les serveurs sont nombreux et efficace, voir un peu trop zelé car on né nous a pas apporté une carafe d’eau mais une bouteille! Alors que nous n’avons pas spécifié vouloir de l’eau minérale. Soit.
Et chiwi d’amour n’a pas apprécié non plus le service à l’ancienne qui consiste à vous mettre du parmesan et du poivre du moulin directement dans son assiette. Personnellement, je trouve cela agréable d’être «servi» jusqu’au bout. Lui préfère se «débrouiller seul». À chacun son truc ;-)
On a fait l’impasse sur le dessert et avec le recul je regrette car il y avait du choix et ça avait l’air bon. Une bonne raison de revenir mais cette fois en mode salon de thé!

A chain it might be, but this Carluccios hits all the right notes. A charming, spacious interior. Friendly, responsive staff. Decent, reasonably priced food (I had the ravoli followed by tiramisu for a grand total of £11). It even has surprisingly good (for a chain) coffee — better, I’d say, than your average coffee chain in fact. The only downer is the relatively small size of the mains, but overall, I’d happily come back here, for the food, coffee, or both.

Sometimes, you just need a non illegal drug fix for work. A totally indulgent treat for «those days at work». Or in my case, a meal replacement program that consists of solely hot chocolate.
You see, being nice to people doesn’t come naturally to me. So I have to «top up» on saccarine-​niceness on a daily basis. And et voila! Carluccio’s hot chocolate is pretty much like a sugar filled happy pill.
The choices are between a Florentine thick hot chocolate or a Florentine thick hot chocolate topped up with milk in a normal sized cup (sold as a «normal hot chocolate»). Personally the latter is my poison– I like the calm induced by drinking steamed milk then scooping out the yummy chocolate with a spoon.
Otherwise it is pretty much a standard Carluccios. Deli in front, restaurant at the back, blah blah blah. Am sure I won’t have ever visited unless someone told me about these lifesaving hot chocolates.
And that’s why, regardless of the time of the day at work, you will always find me at my non– sarcastic, non-​bitchy, saccarine best.

I seem to scare people away from restaurants. When my friend and I came here we were the only ones here! The food was good but standard chain fare. I had the ravioli and my friend had the spaghetti.

Hopelessly unreliable food and worse, slow service with unforgiving accoustics. Give it a miss.
