Byron Proper Hamburgers

The burger was pretty nice, but once again, they won’t cook it rare because of the City Council.
Each time a waiter tells me that, and that the other places where I ate rare burgers are illegal, I feel cheated.
This is just a guess, so PLEASE somebody correct me (with facts) if I am wrong, but it seems that only the restaurants that do the meat for the burgers are the ones that do it in a safe way to have them eaten rare, and so the food chains, that might buy the meat to a third party company, can’t guaranty that minimum safety process.
So even if the burger is very tasty, tender and have a good quality/​price relation, I can’t give the place more that 3 stars, because they aren’t telling me the truth, and the food quality is not that good.
The service was nice.

The burgers are awesome! Had a Byron with skin-​on chips, and a Byron lager to wash it down. I wish I’d had the appetite to try the rest of the menu.

What to do while in London visiting from the U.S.
Have an American cheeseburger.
Well, it was very good. My friend loves cheeburgers and fries… and they did do quite a nice job here.
This would be a major, major step up from your typical fast-​food hamburger that you would find in the U.S. blows In and Out and Five Guys out of the water. It’s sit down order style, have a beer, relax.
But a small step down from the booshie, gastropub, 15 dollar burgers that you find in places like Manhattan Beach /​Santa Monica etc…
London’s food has come up quite a bit over the past years.

Great hamburger chain with several locations. I think they said they’ve grown to 39 locations in the last 6 years. That has to mean something! We both had the Byron burger because it had bacon (enough said) and it was really good. We also ordered a side of fries that were tasty. I had a glass of Malbec and the hubby had a Byron beer that he really enjoyed. I would highly recommend trying Byron’s out.

They got proper burgers all right!
Like: the homemade lemonade. It’s good.
Like: the smokey burger… Le Smokey. It’s good.
Like: this is a small Byron, about 10 tables. 4 of them are booths. It’s good.
Like: the staff. It’s good.
