I love shopping here, I can always find something new to try and their processed meats are very good. They do focus on Spanish food and ingredients — so Spanish olives/almonds/olive oils/pimentos are available in a multitude of varieties. They have a deli style counter for meat and cheese too where you can have your Slices of iberico ham sliced as thinly as you please and grab a wedge of some artisanal locally produced genuine Spanish cheese. But I also like to keep an eye out for seasonal specialties and one off supplies. Got my greedy sugar addict hands on a yummy almond cake yesterday.

Holy mother of all things good in this world… When a friend suggested it, I thought to myself…“Eh, it couldn’t hurt to try it, but why a chorizo sandwich?” Well, she wasn’t wrong in the least bit. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, stop by the Borough Market and find Brindisa. Their chorizo sandwich might sound simple, but it is anything but… Take a beautifully done roll. Floury, ciabatta, and with a nice crispy exterior and soft center making it easy to bite into. Add to it a bit of bite from it being grilled, and it just goes well with the saltiness of the chorizo. The heat from the sausage is brought down by sweet peppers and a bite from arugula leaves. The proportions are there and meld together to create a perfect balance of salt and sweet, bite and savory, and texture brilliance. It is one of those dishes that you read about, only to make a journey and experience it for yourself.

One of the only places I consistently go to where I get Spanish hams and produce. Very authentic very knowledgable. The Ibérico ham is my fav. Love seeing it being carved.

Walked from the Tate modern to Borough Market along the Thames on a Saturday and it was really nice. The toasted bread, olive oil, arugula, chorizo, and roasted red bell pepper come together to make a simple but really great tasting sandwich.

Sweet little deli. Just around the back there’s a grilling area where fresh bites are made. Get the chorizo roll — a double at just under £5. This is possibly one of the best rolls I’ve had. Bursting with so much flavour and the grilled pepper adds a sweetness to it too. Great little snack if on the move in Borough Market or as a tasty lunchtime treat!

Oh gosh, possibly my favorite thing out of all the noms we got at Borough Market today. This chorizo roll is out of the world! They are located at the corner of Park and Stoney, right across Monmouth Coffee. The chorizo roll stand is outside the shop on the Stoney st side. It’s relatively cheap in comparison of other things at Borough. You pay £3.75 for single and £4.95 for double. If i didn’t already have two sandwiches before, i would have gone for double. The chorizo roll is very simple — bun, chorizo, red peppers and arugula leaves. Delicious. Will definitely eat again! Afterwards, you can head to Monmouth Coffee for one of the best coffee I’ve ever had.

This review is specifically for the chorizo rolls they sell right next to the shop, and not the shop itself. An absolute MUSTTRY if at borough market. I don’t really eat chorizo rolls, so saying this is the best chorizo roll I’ve ever had doesn’t quite carry the same weight it would with most other foods. Nonetheless, this is one of those dishes where you immediately know it’s the gold standard. Chorizo, red pepper, rucola, all in a nice floury bun with generous amounts of extra virgin olive oil. I’m not sure if I’m doing it justice in my description but I’m salivating as I write this — that’s how much of an impression it made on me.

This is another gem in Borough Market, the foodie’s paradise in London. Not to be confused with Tapas Brindisa restaurant just round the corner, Brindisa is a Spanish delicatessen If you have any interest in Spanish food or cookery, either now or in the future, this is a must see. The knowledgeable staff will be very happy to help and advise you on subjects ranging from the best paella pan and tips on getting a getting a nice crusty soccrata on the bottom of your paella through to how to tell if saffron is good quality However, I come mainly for the deli products, especially the Iberico ham. They have different quality of ham and will willingly give you a taste. It’s fascinating to watch them carve the ham. This Christmas, I saw a customer buy a whole leg — not sure what sort of bankroll you need to have to afford that but interestingly, the immediate question to the customer was whether the person carving was right or left handed I also love their chorizo and paprika, which is so versatile for pepping up dishes Estupendo, Brindisa!

On our recent UK trip, our first day in London, we rushed to the Borough Market. The sight… the sound… the SMELL! We were in heaven! The only problem was, what to choose? There were vendors of all types… meat pies, curry, fish & chips, pull pork sandwich, duck sandwich, and so on and so forth… Well, we rounded one corner(follow our noses) and came to Brindisa with its big big line of people waiting to get the Chorizo BBQ roll/sandwich. It smelled and looked soooo yummy that we decided this would be it! Our first meal in London. We were not disappointed. We both shared a «double», which is basically double the chorizo. With peppers, some greens, a nice bun… we polished it up in no time! Delicious!

I forgot to ask his name. Was walking through the Borough Market and swung though Brindisa. I was particularly drawn to the cured meats and asked for permission to take a photo. Yes was the reply, but he also gave me a small sample from one of the thighs. Then a mother brought her two sons over to learn more, and the counter suddenly turned into a classroom. The Maestro/Instructor/Butcher showed us the aging process, how to strategically remove fat, how to properly slice, how to work around bone, etc. A free master class(in 15 minutes) on the science of curating meat for years. As a visitor, I have no kitchen so could only buy a small sampling. But a sampling was perfect. If you’re a fellow tourist, grab some fare and have a picnic in some park. I didn’t think it was too expensive given that you aren’t going for volume here, but small bites of intense taste. My only regret is that I forgot to ask his name, for you should look for him there and ask advice. He’s not a mere butcher but an artist.

I make it a point to go here once a month or so to have lunch and stock up on paella ingredients. They have this little stall just outside the shop that makes chorizo sandwiches. Nice and simple, it’s the only thing on the menu and you have the choice of getting a) a single and b) a double. Get the double. The chorizo is some of the best I’ve ever had and we all know chorizo just tastes better after it’s been lightly cooked and seared on the outside. Add to it some sauteed sweet red peppers, a bit of rocket, and stuff it in a soft crusty roll(that was toasted in chorizo oils) and you have a winner that’s a visual and gastronomical delight. As far as the store, it has everything I need for paella from the pan, to the rice, to saffron, to even the meat. Seafood wise, just wander down to the seafood stall in the centre of the main market or if you are slightly insane(like myself) get up early on a Saturday to get to Billingsgate for fresh mussels. Brilliant.

Before Brindisa opened up their deli on Stoney St, this was the only place you could go for your Spanish food fix during the week. My favorite thing is the spicy chorizo. I haven’t been able to find suitable replacement now that I’m on the other side of the Atlantic. I am also quite partial to their corn snacks.

Brindisa is an excellent delicatessen. Specialising in Spanish regional imports, it is quite expensive but is well worth a trip, especially if you are trying to find any rare or specialist ingredients. There cured meat selection is very impressive and they are more than happy for you to try any of the chorizo, salami and morcilla. It is one of the only places I have found in London that stocks Ortiz tinned tuna(delicious tuna steaks with the most amazing packaging) Though it kills me to buy it from here(it costs pretty much double the price as it does in Spain) it is SO delicious. It is well worth popping in for a couple of free samples.

I have been to a number of delicatessens in my day, but one of the best is Brindisa in Exmouth Market. When I walk into the shop my nostrils are assailed by various smells. I smell meat and spices and olives and sweets, the scent is almost intoxicating and my mouth immediately begins to water. There are several items for sell in this delicatessen. You can purchase cheese, meats, olives, and all sorts of other items that might be used for cooking. But the best part and what keeps bringing me back are the sandwiches. The sandwiches come in a wide variety. You can have a sandwich with several different meats or one with no meat, the choice is entirely yours. The hard part is trying to decide which one you want. My favourite is the mixed meat sandwich with peppers. The meat and peppers are stuffed into a mini baguette and has cheese and butter spread across the bread. When you select a sandwich you can smell all the ingredients and the best part is the sandwiches are freshly made. Not only do they look fresh, they taste it. Most of the time I start eating my sandwich the minute I leave the store, the smell is so overwhelming I can never wait until I get home. On warm days I sit on a bench in the park or wonder looking into the windows in Exmouth Market. On cold days, I simply walk down the street with my gloves on eating my wonderfully delicious sandwich making other pedestrians green with envy because they know their taste buds are missing out.

Although Brindisa is probably most well known from its locations at Borough Market, or the newer Tierra one in Soho, its Exmouth Market location provides people with a much more accessible place to pick up great ingredients for home, or a tasty portion for a filling lunch. I always find that the cost quickly adds up with me always thinking just one more thing taking me up a few more quid. I can never resist taking home their chorizo, especially their more spicy piccante version. Of course, things aren’t the cheapest prices but what you do pay for is quality ingredients.

I love their gazpacho(summertime) and their chorizo and chickpea stew(wintertime). They’ve stock a more than decent variety of all sorts of Spanish yummies and serve gorgeous grilled chorizo and rocket sarnies on the street a few days a week(yes, just like at Borough Market). Nice selection of Spanish sweets and fresh fruits and veg too.

Ok, I know that Brindisa is a perennial fave of the fans of Borough Market, but I’m not sure that I buy into the hype — and this particular shop doesn’t do much to change my mind. Ok, it’s small so the range of products isn’t going to be very wide, but what they do have isn’t much to write home about. A good selection of olives in different marinades but they’re definitely not the best I’ve had — in fact I’d say significantly cheaper ones from the supermarket are just as good if not better. And the same goes for the chorizo and salamis. Might be worth popping in for a couple of free samples, or if you need something specialist for a recipe, but otherwise I can’t see what this place has that you would go out of your way to go there.
