the misses loves this local joint, particularly the sourdough bread. the coffee is good and i once had a sandwich which was more than decent. service with a smile and probably the biggest croissants ever! would give 3.5 so went for the 4 to bring its average up! go team.

The Americano was barely drinkable at best. I then saw the woman who’d served me be coached by another woman in what the difference between a single and a double espresso would be, so that could explain the sour bomb that was my drink. I also had the unfortunate pleasure of arriving at the same time the local mums’ group overtakes the joint(around 2pm on a weekday, if you’re wondering). The gals were well-behaved as were their brood. However, one of them, hot-blooded I guess, decided she was ‘too hot’ and asked if she could open the door(while simultaneously opening the front door of the café WIDE) thus killing my toasty buzz and replacing it with frosty chill. I sat out the remainder of my short stay in my coat. I’m sure that the pastries might be tasty, and the sourdough sour, but I’d do well to dash in and out for that sort of thing, and not hang around for a nibble and cuppa, if I’d ever go back at all.

Lovely little place in an odd part of town. Good coffee and great cakes. The sourdough bread is worth the trip alone.
