My friend booked us for a vintage photography session through a discount voucher site, and I didn’t think about it much at the time. Then the day came, and I didn’t think it through very extensively — I grabbed some vintage-looking clothes, shaved my legs, and off I went to the studio. They do your makeup and hair to your preferences, then take some pictures individually and some together. The shoot was pretty fun — my main complaint is that the makeup person finished my hair instead of the hair person, and it looked nice but she needed to put a lot more hairspray in it, because my curls fell out almost completely by the time the photo shoot even started. So I’m pretty unhappy with my hair in the pictures. I was also shocked by the photo prices. The voucher gives no indication of this, though it’s probably standard for photography studios… and because of pressure from the sales person(and the pictures were quite good) I walked out of there having payed in the hundreds of pounds range with only a handful of photos on a disc. I still regret it, but I’m telling myself it was a fun experience. I just don’t recommend going here unless you’re prepared to shell out major quid, be prepared to tell them exactly what you want, and bring some great clothes and accessories!
