Basilico

I ordered from Basilico for the first time today and I will never order from them again. I ordered an 18″ americana at a relatively early time, taking into account rush hour, because I realized that most deliveries (especially in East London) are never as prompt as they advertise to be. I received my pizza an hour and a half late, and I live right down the road from Basilico. Needless to say, the pizza arrived cold. Although I would never imagine this to be an issue, as pizza is usually just as good when cold, the pizza was dry and undercooked. Unfortunately, I thoroughly regret ordering from this place and spending the amount of money that I did. (I mean, let’s be honest, it’s kind of hard to mess up a pizza) Prior to this experience, I have walked by Basilico hundreds of time, noticing their wood fired oven and cleanliness. However, I guess it is true that some things are not as great as they appear to be. Thanks for nothing Basilico. I did not want to do this but now I am sat here, writing this review, still hungry, disappointed, and twenty pounds down.

Pizza are good. Thin crust, well cooked! We had a big one for two and it was enough! The website is easy to use and delivery is fast and free over £12. Solid four stars. This will be my regular pizza place

I order from Basilico at least once every two weeks and its turned into my favorite local pizza place. Their prices are pretty much on par with larger chain delivery places when it’s all said and done, but the quality is much better.
The pizzas are all made to order, wood fired, and range in size from 12″ to a whopping 18″. You can order online or over the phone and your order will be ready in about 15 minutes if you go pick it up.
This place is fast and incredibly convenient. The pizzas are pretty good too. You can choose from a variety of different toppings, such as goat’s cheese, artichoke, pancetta, garlic, roast chicken. .. the list goes on.
I would caution, however, against ordering the sides, salads, and desserts. This is a pizza place first and foremost, and they don’t do the other dishes very well.

After a busy day of eating with friends, we just couldn’t find the energy to make dinner or go out. Then we remembered a rumour we’d heard that Basilico has a vegan cheese option and so we decided to give them a try. This is the stuff Friday night junk food pizza dreams were made of. If I lived in London I’d order from these guys all the time.
Note: my order was a large margherita with vegan cheese and it was enough to satisfy three people.

I had the largest pizza they do, with vegan cheese. While it tasted lovely, it definitely wasn’t the best pizza I’ve had. Also, 6 chunks of pineapple? Really? I paid about £2.50 for that extra topping…

A very good delivery pizza option for those in Limehouse. Fresh, wood oven pizzas, available within 15 mins if you are prepared to walk up, a little longer for delivery. So far very impressed with the quality and the service.
