Nice place — good food and friendly service. Let’s face it — this isn’t the smartest corner of London but even on a quiet Monday night in March, the staff at Atithi(which means«guest») do a good job and serve a tasty meal for a very reasonable price.

BESTINDIAN ever! I lived in Mill HIll and went here every week for a family dinner. Due to the location its never that busy which is a shame for them. The food really is wonderful!

For me this is the best Indian I’ve found in London. I’m yet to eat in the restaurant itself, but have ordered food for delivery a number of times now and it has always been excellent. Most importantly the food is not greasy and full of oil, plus they know what they’re doing with their spicing and get everything spot on. Not blow your balls off heat, rather a good combo of warmth and flavour. The Paneer Shashlik and Dal Makhani are highly recommended!

Until a couple of weeks ago this was my local curry house, but despite moving we’ve still been back(twice!) to enjoy the food. Their Murgh Tikki Makhani is the tastiest curry I have ever eaten! The currys are well spiced and unusual to those not used to them; it is an authentic curry house, so you wont find a vindaloo or a tikki marsala here! The naan bread is always very soft but crispy on the bottom(which is how I like it!) and they are always incredibly generous with their free poppodoms! I’ve only eaten in once(we usually prefer to take away) and found the décor clean and sleek and the service incredibly attentive. We were one of only 2 tables in the whole place though(and it was a Saturday night!) which meant it lacked a little in atmosphere.

We have been to this restaurant several times for dinner. The first time was soon after it opened. The food is innovative, freshly prepared and with a clean fresh taste. As you can tell, we like the food very much and so we re-visited them a further three times with our friends. There are two downsides though, the service and atmosphere. With regards to service they have a young waiter who does not understand what service means, and on almost every occasion he has lived up to this. He is rude at times, pushing you to make choices, challenging your request, and even lazy signalling from afar. The other members of staff are much better, but need to be more responsive in the service they deliver. With regards to the atmosphere, every time we have visited there were no more than two or three other tables occupied, it was very quiet indeed. This I believe is due to their marketing or lack of it. No one knows it’s there, try Google search. Nor have we seen it advertised in any local papers or leaflets in local businesses etc. We only saw it one day, as we passed by on the A41. This is where I believe they need to put their efforts, so that the staff get motivated as more customers visit and lead to an overall improvement. In summary this is an excellent place with great food, only let down by lack of service and atmosphere.
