Was staying nearby on business trip. Restaurant was nearly empty(not a good sign) but decided to eat here anyway. Wait for food was terribly long. Manager came by to apologize that something was going on in kitchen but did not say what. Finally got food after approximately 20 – 30 minutes. Food was terrible and clearly not fresh.

Went on a Saturday evening, around 7pm. Place was empty when we arrived, some more people showed up by the time we left. The first thing that you notice is the décor. It is a well done impression of a middle-eastern house/city/market alley. It’s almost tacky, but still fits the intent and looks good. It’s a fairly quiet place with some background elevator type music. It would have been better to have some authentic music though. Food was good but not exceptional, not quite in line with the price in my opinion. I have eaten the same sort of dishes(lamb chops, grape leaves, etc) as good or better in hole-in-the-wall places around the globe at often half price or less. There is a good selection of dishes from appetizers to desserts. Drinks range from tea to coffee and fruit drinks. No alcohol though at all. Service was prompt and polite and not noteworthy(good or bad) They an accommodate a large group(up to 100) in the equally well designed basement. Given the large number of restaurants in London, I wouldn’t go back although I have no regrets about going in the first place. Thus 3 Stars.

Assaha is a good restaurant for its value. Located near Paddington station, it is definitely a place for tourists to pop in for a meal. Pros: Waiters served food quickly and almost all at once. Generally speaking, all the dishes ordered were well cooked. Cons: Later in the evening, the restaurant got packed and the wait staff couldn’t keep up with the demand. Very disorganized management of the restaurant. One waiter specifically was quite rude to the table next to mine. He complained that he had already asked about dessert and they should have paid attention earlier because there were customers waiting for their table. Also, it took them a long time to clean up the spilled drink from the floor. Highlights: Grilled haloumi(because haloumi is delicious), manakek, cheese rolls from the mixed pies, and beef and lamb from the Assaha barbeque(the chicken was too dry though).

We had dinner there one night last week and LOVED it. The ambiance was perfect, with a particularly lovely interior. Our server was very pleasant, although somewhat reserved. Everything was spotless and the food was really delicious & flavorful. My husband ordered the tabbouleh appetizer, and for his main course he ordered the shish tawouk(chicken with pastry and potatoes). I opted to order three small dishes, although actually the portions were *very* generous: vegetarian moussaka, spinach pie and warak inab(stuffed grape leaves). We were full by then, but couldn’t resist sharing an order of the«mixed pudding» dessert and it had wonderful seasonings. The bill(not including tip) came to 34.50 pounds.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Despite being a quiet, midweek evening we were left for twenty minutes before our order was taken and had to wait a further ten minutes for our drinks. The six dishes we ordered came one by one with a long delay between each, so we had the choice of either eating one dish at a time, or waiting for all the dishes to arrive and some being cold. The final dish we got was rice, which was dry and inedible on its’ own. One dish did not arrive at all, but when the bill came we had still been charged for it! The food was distinctly average, the service was slow, the staff were unfriendly, rude and sullen and poor English communication. All in all this was a very unpleasant experience and I will certainly never go back there. With so many good restaurants in London I’m amazed that this place is still open. Definitely not to be recommended.

This by far has to be the worst Lebanese food I have had in London. The time we spent time there, me and my partner witnessed about 4 people come in and leave out within the first 7minutes because of poor service. A casual dressed waiter has lost his smile waiting for a penny of tips The music was terrible and the food even worse. The shish tawouk came pinkish and all that i could taste was the heavy sauce the chicken was drenched in. The fattoush was as terrible as it tasted nothing like fattoush. floor is so dirty and windows are marked with dust and finger prints The only semi decent thing was the décor. I would not recommend anyone go there as it is a total waste of money

A beautifully designed restaurany, capturing the heart of the old lebanese village and bringing it back to life, fresh food made every day makes for a really unique dining experience. Recommend for everyone to try this place out you wont be dissapointed trust me…

playing it mellow on a friday night, we head in there for dinner. the hostess seated us and a few minutes later took our order. 30 minutes later, the only ordered item we received was water. it turns out that our order was lost and when i asked if they started on our order yet, they lied and said yes. they could’ve easily smoothed it over by saying«no, but we’ll get it started right away if you’d like to wait a few minutes» so i could have the choice to head to another restaurant(much better, down the street called fontana). they must’ve been mad at me(and i was polite through all of it) because our food came our lukewarm. since when did french fries come with shwarma? and they don’t serve any alcohol — which i can totally understand as it observes their religion. however, i prefer arak with my middle eastern food. to their credit, the servers were kind to us for the rest of the evening. for the same price as assaha’s menu, i’ll gladly spend my money elsewhere for hot food and alcohol.

Some friends told me about this restaurant a while ago and they said it one of a kind in London. And they raised the expectation bar really really high. And I was surprised not to find it in Unilocal: S. But here you go dear Unilocalpers. I had a go in the restaurant last night and I was really amazed by the place. The décor of the place, is absolutely stunning! You’ll forget that you are in London for a while. It is designed like an old Lebanese house with so many work and details everywhere to enjoy. We sat in basement as my friend suggested(see how kind I’m :P) and it was massive place, though only few tables were occupied. I also found the menu to be a masterpiece by it self The service was quite prompt, waiters are friendly but not very impressive(there was something wrong in the service, I don’t know what). But The food and every thing came right away. The food was really good, well cooked and freshly made. we has all sort of Mezzas and starters, mixed grill, Falfel, Great fresh made juices and so many others things(obviously the five of us shared the food this time). I have to say, while food was really good, I think my high expectations just made it hard for me to be impressed too. I think the place is worth a visit, and I’m definitely gonna go again with friends and family, at least to show them the place.
