This restaurant was an absolute disappointment. I had looked up gluten free food options before coming to London, and every website I checked out recommended Ask. When I looked at their menu, I could see why! They have gluten free pasta and pizza and they could accommodate basically any choice to be gluten free. On the internet, I was super impressed. In person, it was a different story. I came here with a friend on our lunch break, and I was super excited. I ordered The food took forever to come out, and when we got it, it was cold. How is that even possible?! Worst of all, the gluten free pasta was horrible — and I’ve had some horrible gluten free pasta in my days. Seriously, it sucked. At the end of our meal, we waited forever for our check, over and over again trying to flag someone down. There was zero attention, zero service, and zero flavor. Now, I gave them another chance the next day. I brought a group of friends, and we were all excited to try out some Italian close to our hotel. I tried the gluten free pizza this time, and it tasted like cardboard. The pizza was thin and crunchy like a stale cracker, and again, my meal was completely flavorless. Nobody else in my group was really pleased with their food either. Worst of all, the roof started leaking right over our table, so we all had to scoot over to get away from the water dripping onto our food! I certainly won’t be back if I’m ever in London again, and I wouldn’t advise that anyone else waste their money here. You’ll find me over at Pizza Express…

My friend and I would come here any chance we could when we studied abroad in London. ASK is located just around the tube and where we stayed so it was hard for us not to go to this place. I can’t tell you how amazing this food is. I’m not even sure what I liked best. The pizza, pasta and the dessert was all just amazing. The service was great but we did have one bad experience where they sort of ignored us. Fortunately, they were very apologetic about it and ended up being busy in the downstairs area and forgot about the upstairs seating area. Not a big deal. ASK will also do carryout, which is great and I believed their prices were quite reasonable and that’s coming from an American who’s currency is half of what the British Pound is. I also think that if you’re tired of British food, you can go to ASK. I felt like I saw a ton of Italian cuisines all over London. However, I rather liked British food! I have to say, the best part of the ASK, and pretty much the reason why I’m writing a review, is their chocolate cake. I know that seems silly but my friend and I would be absolutely craving their chocolate cake and would run over there as soon as we could just to simply order that and nothing else. It was to die for. Warm chocolate syrup with ice cream on top? This was possibly the best cake I’ve ever had! You must try it when you go there! If I ever get back to London, I will try to make this restaurant the first place I go!

It beats eating British food… 1. No offense to the Brits, love you guys, but sorry your food is not your forte haha So my family and I found this Italian place, while randomly wandering around our hotel. It looked nice from the outside so we thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did! 2. Like the prior review, ASK is a chain offering pretty good Italian food in a casual environment, that won’t put a dent in your wallet. I don’t remember the names anymore, but the 6 of us ordered something different and enjoyed it all –pizza, pasta, calzone and the special of the day-some pork dish. The portions were surprisingly large. 3. I don’t know what to compare this place to in regards to other British«Italian» restaurants, but for Americans like myself it’s kind of like an Olive Garden. Well unfortunately without the yummy, unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks. Those rock! * From my understanding, the name«ASK» is not an acronym. But rather if you have any questions about the restaurant or curious if you can request to add or omit something about the entrée… all you have to do is «ASK» …(There you go Jay!)

Ask is a Italian styled restaurant chain offering modern, uncomplicated and easy food as pasta and pizza, with affordable prices and in a very civilized environment. This one next to Hyde Park I visited during the summer after spending the day out in the park, and it was nice as the huge windows were wide open and it felt like eating outside. The white colored decoration with high ceilings and hall like rooms is impressive but very neutral and even slightly cold looking. In this case you can see that the place is a chain so not the most authentic. I had flavorful raviolis that were a bit oily but fresh and perfectly al dente. But still the most impressive part was the fact that I had my dinner under ten pounds, so why not!
