Today Sunday the 19th my son and I went to Asda in Roehampton. Before shopping we went to the Restaurant. It was a joke. The only saving grace was a tall black man behind the counter who kept it going with a smile and his ability to overcome the staff he had with a smile. How is this man still employed by Asda, he is too good for them. If I had a business he would the first person I head hunted.

I had a really bad and shaking experience by the till checkout, and I was shouted at by the checkout person, not going into details here but I made a formal complaint about it and surely not going back to the store ever again!!! For spending a £116.00 in a store and being shouted at… no way!!!

This was my first and LAST visit to this store. I should have listened to my instinct and got my shopping elsewhere, but as I was literally passing it, after visiting friends in the area, and needed certain items, I thought why not pop in ! The first problem was when I encountered ASDA’s Ardennes pâté, in the chilled section, that was out of date by SEVEN days, I had to check the date several times to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me. I approached a bored looking man at customers service, and informed him of the problem, did he look particularly . It was at this point my instinct kicked in to leave the store and get my shopping elsewhere, but I chose to ignore it. I bought some minced steak priced £3.50 with a sale by date of 25th March, so am I really surprised that on going to the fridge to cook it for tonight’s dinner to find it dark brown and STINKING ! I have just spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to get through to customer services! Managed to speak to one of the Manager’s called Dillon, who was more interested in did I have my receipt… NO I don’t have the receipt why would I keep a receipt for food shopping? He wants me to keep the packaging and return it as some point for an exchange… is he mad does he really think I will ever get more meat from his store? I live 23 miles away from this store and we don’t have an Asda near me, don’t know when I will be visiting the friend again either. I am not impressed with this store at all and will never shop here again. PS: any ideas how to dispose of rotting meat?

This sprawling branch of the superstore is located directly on the A3. Conveniently, it’s open around-the-clock(except for weekends). Perhaps surprisingly there aren’t many other supermarkets, in close proximity, that provide such extended trading hours so I’ve occasionally found myself here, late in the evening, when I need a few items. The entrance is not the most alluring, or welcoming, as the main access route is via the large, covered car park. As you approach the store entrance there are a couple of handy cash point machines and a satellite McDonald’s(not open 24 hours). Before arriving at the food and drink aisles, you’ll discover a decent sized George section with a fair choice for men, women and children — although not all the lines are stocked here. If you’re ‘tempted’ into trying-on any items, be aware that the fitting rooms close at around 10pm. Whenever I’ve visited late in the evening, it’s a little like an obstacle course as it coincides with shelf-stocking time and that appears to take precedence over customer service. Few tills are staffed at these times, so both factors are worth bearing in mind — if you’re not in a patient or tolerant mood! That said, there’s plenty of choice in most areas and there are sometimes some surprisingly appealing or useful bargains in the homeware section.
