I love their roasted veggie and hummus sandwich! I have to take away a star because they sometimes run out of them, leaving no vegan options, and I have had both good and bad service. I first discovered Apostrophe in Heathrow several years ago and I’m glad they have this location convenient to University of London. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

This is my go to place for a study break. Their hot chocolate is amazing, it is basically like having a cup of melted chocolate! The consistency is very thick, but it’s a wonderfully smooth and rich drink. I always get the large since it comes in a giant cup and is only £2.95. Have tried their pastries before and not too bad, but the muffins are a bit too dry. I would recommend getting their baked goods early instead of later in the afternoon.

ICECREAM! The rest of apostrophe might be lovely, but that’s not important. The most important thing is the little trolley perched just outside the shop serving goooorgeous little pots of low fat ice-cream. We tried the apple sorbet(that had little bits of crushed apple — sooo refreshing) and salt caramel ice-cream(made with Himalayan pink rock salt) that *claimed* to be less than 6% fat, but tasted sooo creamy and good that I don’t believe them. Yum.

Apostrophe is simple and nice. They have divine chocolate muffins with chocoate sauce in the center the likes of which I have not seen anywhere else in London thus far. It’s an easy place to sit outside for a chat while watching the student crowd wander b and nicely located right next to Russell Square Station, so easy enough to find. Their iced tea is infused with a subtle combination of meth, crack, and berries so as to keep you coming back for more. Mmmm… methcrackberry tea…

The big difference between Apostrophe and other lunch chains is in the filling and the bread. Never a triangle of bread in a box shall you find here. Instead you get wonderful baguettes, wheat free breads and dark ryes with interesting fillings. I love the roasted aubergine in a wheat free wrap and the toasted pastrami, emmental, sauerkraut and mustard on rye. I had heard that the hot chocolate was the best in town. It’s certainly a shade above the powdery rubbish that some shops sell, thick and sweet but it was lukewarm and bit globular so was a bit disappointed in that. Averagely priced for a lunch time spot but a bit of an indulgence for an everyday occurence.
