Great little spot for quick eats and tea. We tried a pulled chicken panini & tikka sag stew. Also had some food tea that warmed us up. Good staples at this eatery.

Despite my prejudice against chains, I love this Apostrophe. The staff are really nice, they have good croissants(ham and cheese, almond…) and the thick hot chocolate is the BEST! Sometimes on really bad work days that hot chocolate has made it all ok…

Have had very good experiences at Apostrophe! I had the most delicious glass of orange juice with a banana bran muffin. Would order again if I wasn’t attempting to try everything they offer! All the pastries and sandwiches are tempting, and they offer a lot of vegetarian options. It was quiet, and I could sit in a cozy booth with my notebook and pass a fantastic, calm morning. The atmosphere is wonderful as well – chic, European, with style but not pretentious. It’s the kind of place you could bring a book and spend as much time like as you like in your spot without feeling pressure from the staff to move along. I will be back. Also they have a loyalty punch card – keep returning and you’ll get a free tea or coffee.

Not just your usual pre-made sandwich a la Pret-a-Manger. Delicious, original combos on terrific bread. Fresh juices, trail mixes, desserts, all wonderful. Not a lot of variety if you are looking for a full breakfast, English or American, but great for lunch or that tea-time snack.

I’ve been twice to Apostrophe with high hopes, and have left disappointed. Walking in, it’s impressive and funky. It’s frighteningly busy, and sandwiches and the like are practically flying off the counter. But it took me forever to decide what to order as nothing jumped out at me, the combinations were odd and seemed misplaced. Nothing looked THAT appetising, even though the bread was probably the star of the show. The staff were lovely, but the food just didn’t cut it. I ended up with a parma ham baguette with mustard and sauerkraut. In short, it tasted bloody awful. Sorry Apostrophe. So much potential, but I’d rather go to EAT.

Nice coffee, tasty looking treats, friendly service, looks clean and is pretty funky. Nothing to be *too* excited about, but altogether very nice.

Me likey this place. Me likey. I’m not big on sandwiches, but I popped in many mornings while visiting London to get a pastry, juice, coffee, fruit, etc. The working stiffs run in and growl at you when you take too long to order or you order something complicated! I didn’t mind — part of the charm of being in regular neighborhood while on vacation instead of the tourist areas. Much better for stopping in for breakfast than Starbucks because the food is actually good and tastes fresh. Some of the employees had a hard time understanding what I was saying and I assumed it was because of my American accent, but of course now I know that the employees just don’t really understand English at all. :-) It’s very PINK.

Grumpy service. Counter staff shouting Next! when you’re right in front of them — its comic really. Food is overpriced. Lattes come in those wide coffee mugs which make your coffee cold within 2 minutes.

I’m not a huge fan of the sandwiches here(with the exception of the delectable smoked salmon), as they are a bit overpriced relative to other sandwich shops in the area and the portions are not very filling. However, their pastries, cakes, and espresso drinks are all really very good and they will customize their drinks if asked. Nibbling on a pain au chocolat with a cappuccino from here is happiness. It can get a bit busy during the morning and lunch time rush, however the wait is usually not very long. Definitely worth stopping by for a pastry or coffee.

Apostrophe is appropriately named as once you try the deli style food here you’ll be using lots of the little grammatical spots whilst you order a sandwich, pastry, maybe a cake, or two, a coffee, another cake?! Even though it’s fairly chain like inside(although a nice, tidy one at that) and lacks the charisma of lots of my favourite cafes in this area, the food is not to be sniffed at. They describe themselves as a boulangerie-patisserie, but the emphasis isn’t on just on the French side as their coffee is Italian and the twist of modern European faire has more than one influence. Anyway, it’s very good! I like the pots of jam dotted about for you to help yourself, and with a croissant this makes a great treat. The pan au chocolat with pear are so tasty. I don’t mind calling in here alone as they have all the dailies for you to sift though at your leisure and it’s a nice relaxed environment.

As my University was around this area, we had no escape then eating the triangle sandwiches or bring our own food to eat in our cafeteria. But we soon discovered Apostrophe around the corner, which has a fantastic selection of sandwiches. Apostrophe is a popular place to stop off for breakfast or a lunchtime baguette and not to be missed by its pink shop window. They have a new selection of gourmet salads freshly prepared on site. This place was not for everyday, as you payed for a sandwich around £4. The staff is very friendly and quick. You can have both, take away as well as eating in. You must be quick though, as the seats are limited, but worst scenario they have a bar to sit on. Even though it is nothing special, it is a great place to quickly pop out and treat yourself to healthy and fresh food(a bit of a luxury for any student). You also can place a order for several people and they wrap it for you in stylish pink boxes.

A regular place for my morning coffee, very good selection of fresh juices, pastries and the coffee smells wonderful. The feel of the place is cosy and comfortable, and it’s fun overhearing conversations — many business meetings take place there. The staff are friendly, but not always fast and the queue can get intimidating. My other complain is the prices: it’s always been on the pricey side, but it was justified by the fresh food. But lately, the prices increased out of proportion. No matter, it still has some of the most imaginative sandwiches around and I still like to treat myself from time to time.

If I pop into this café, it can mean only one thing, and that is me graving rye bread. It so hard to find decent bread from London café’s! And it does not hurt that is comes with fresh fillings and a good cup of coffee. Well the price hurts, but just for a little while. I have visited several Apostrophe café’s and I have to admit, they have a strong concept as the I find all the places almost identical! This is my favorite venue only because I live close by. If I lived somewhere else, I would choose café more close by. So no strings attached. The style is a bit too clean and pink, but with food selection they beat all other café chains. Besides the bread I love the fresh juices and porridge on the mornings!

Almost unmissible because of its shocking Schiaparelli pink branding, upmarket café Apostrophe makes beautiful coffee, expensive but gorgeous sandwiches and offers a good range of reading material for its largely bourgeois clientele. The Great Eastern Street branch has seating inside and out, is blessed with lovely staff and is a great place for a meeting or well made coffee to go. The atmosphere is a little more sterile than other Shoreditch cafes but depending on your mood, the quality of Apostrophe’s fare should compensate for its relative lack of character.

When I used to escape my horrid office on Paul Street, I used to come here when I felt like being carbo-naughty. I used to get a goats cheese salad sandwhich and sit in Apostrophe with the mint flavoured water they offer for free and read the paper. This is a nice place and they do a loyalty card. The atmosphere gives it a higher end chain feel. There are always periodicals lying around. The food is good here and a bit expensive. My goats cheese sandwhich was at least 4 pounds. You can’t really go wrong in Apostrophe though if your looking a quick lunch that you know will be predictably decent.
