I had a good lunch here at a sensible price for London. A healthy option meal and free Wifi. Limited experience by which to rate a place but I would go there again.

Came here for lunch with my sister, I chose the chorizo baguette — I’m a sucker for artisan bread. The flavours were good but I wish I had got it toasted as the texture of the bread was more panini like. The coffee was really nice, I had a white americano so I’d deff go back to get coffee. I hate places that charge more for eating in rather than taking away, you’re looking at paying an extra 60p to eat in. Not much, but still a good addition to what you pay generally. My baguette was about £3.25 and the coffee £1.85. I really really wanted to give this place a chance as I’ve walked past it numerous times, but to be honest I still prefer Pret’s posh cheddar and pickle baguette! Also, when I sat inside at 1pm on a weekday, it was eerily quiet and creeped me out lol

I agree with Becky F about the gross hot chocolate. My companion made us go in because of the luxury thick hot choc advertised in the window, but it was so awful he couldn’t bear to drink it. It was as thick as custard, but not because of high chocolate content(far from it), rather it had obviously been thickened with cornflour. It tasted bland, had a glutinous texture in the mouth and formed a tell-tale skin every minute or so that it was left undisturbed, which was extremely unappetising. An incredible hot chocolate fail. My tea was fine, and the display of sandwiches and pastries looked very appetising.

I used to come here for a drink and a snack nearly every time I was in Holborn, but EVERY time this place disappoints and I’ve finally realized it’s not going to get better. They make the grossest hot chocolate ever(you can choose if you want milk or water, but it’s bad no matter what, and I normally like it both ways) awful chai lattes, and although the sandwiches are passable, they make them much better at EAT or Pret just down the road. I’m so over Apostrophe * I do like the free water though
