We were staying at the Doubletree and went here for a late dinner. The food was great and the service was very nice.

Heard really good things about this restaurant. On visiting the food was just OK(nothing to get excited about). The pros of the Angel Curry Centre have to be the price, which for the area and food is very reasonable. Also the fact that you can BYOB(especially as there is a Tesco and Sainsburys close by).

Ganz lecker, sehr, sehr, sehr freundliche Bedienung und gepflegte, unkomplizierte Atmosphäre. Dazu recht preiswert.

Went back, yet again, the other night 3-Oct-13… I have to keep up my assertion; the roshen-e lamb and prawn jalfrezi weren’t oily. The curry vegetable was a bit, but not a bad as other places I’ve been. BTW, their roshen-e lamb for me is legendary… how many time I just wanted to get two orders of that a a naan bread… mmmmm… Also, their naan bread is really-really good, and very tasty. Quite sure it’s handmade.

This hidden little Indian restaurant can easily compete many of the big, better located and well known curry places! It serves traditional dishes like tika, birigiani, balti, tandoori and korma along with tasty nan bread, papadoms and pilau rice! But above all it has friendly service, it stays open until late, you can bring your own wine to drink and it is cheap! Highly recommended if you are in the area!

A nice little restaurant that always seems to be busy. The food is good rather than amazing but is great value at the price, and the service is warm and friendly

It may not look like much, but for my money, it’s the best Indian food you can get anywhere(at least anywhere that isn’t my grandmother’s house!). Wonderfully spicy, and the price is great too.

Immense portions and very reasonable prices… that are the only pros of Angel Curry Centre. The food is rather bland and excessively oily. I may be harsh, but as I have grown up eating Indian food — I recommend eating elsewhere where you can eat chicken tikka masala which is not pink and filled with white small lumpy bits of garlic/coconut.

Oil slicks? Inconceivable! As wittily set-up as his closing line was(amazeballs, BTWs) I was so convinced that Vince T had had an off-night at Angel Curry Centre that I had to, in the name of all-that-is-holy-research, make sure that my information was not incorrect. Lo and behold, my information was incorrect. Or at least between January and March something drastically changed. Our food arrived just like normal — neatly packaged and right on time, but this time with the surprising addition of those telltale yellow translucent grease stains overtaking every corner of the cardboard take-away tin topper. Inconceivable! But conceive. I hate to say it, but my food wasn’t even 4-star quality, it was run-of-the-mill take-away Indian with a dansak that lacked the sour/spice combo I’ve come to love and a butter chicken that put the butt in butter. It was all sorts of wrong. I’ll re-update you in 2-months, but as shockingly drastic as this unfortunate surprise was for me, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time I order a pizza arrives.

Food is quite tasty and reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back. However… not sure what Laura N and Brad M were talking about, with regard to the food’s healthiness level. i had me some oil slicks that would have made BP proud…

Having had the great fortune of having plenty of home cooked Indian, Pakistani, Bahraini, etc, etc food before, I am certain this is the 2nd best Indian restaurant I have eaten at in the UK. It’s our favorite Indian/curry restaurant, and we go there frequently now, especially because the food doesn’t have a layer of greasy oil on top. They have so many good dishes, it’s a bit of decision when we go, so make sure you mix up what you eat if you go several times. The menu has a great variety, but not ridiculous like some Brick Lane restaurants. We took a picky eater there on one occasion, the staff didn’t hesitate to offer to swap and combine ingredients, spice level to deliver what they wanted to eat. The staff are exceptionally kind, friendly and attentive. Make sure to book for Thursday to Saturday or you will be disappointed! Oh yes, this is BYOB… and such delicious food! By the way, forget Brick Lane, this restaurant, like most, is better than Brick Lane restaurants.

This is a great little place in Islington. They do great Indian food and you can bring your own drinks, and no charge for using their glasses. The staff is excellent and food is really cheap. Some days they have a special deal; order 5 courses for £10. Good value for money!
