In London you can find a Turkish restaurant in every corner and after a while they seem almost the same to me. Before the visit we were recommended to book a table but when we arrive it was not busy around 6pm. Its a big place and seems good for group reservations. Like others, we were greeted with complimentary bread, cacik, humus which were delicious especially the bread, I cant resist. The staff was in a rush but still trying to be polite. We received our food a bit late in comparison to other Turkish restaurants in Green Lanes(30 mins later and we were full with the starters). Actually after our dining experience we were not amazed by the food or the service. I recommend this restaurant to locals but i will be still going to the restaurants in Green Lanes.

Yesterday we went for dinner at this turkish restaurant. This place used to be one of my favourite spots for turkish food. The reason why i am giving 3 stars is not because their food isn’t good, their food is very delicious but since they made the place twice the size their customer service is terrible. The place was very busy yesterday but there were plenty of waiters and we still had to wait a long time. What they should start doing is after they serve the food to go and check if everything is okay and if the customer needs anything. We had to wave around till someone actually pays attention. This is my only criticism, the place looks lovely and modern after they did the renovation.

This is no nonsense home cooking Turkish style, the place is welcoming and there’s plenty of locals who seem to know everybody who works there. I had the Turkish style pizza with minced lamb which was very filling and even before you place your order you are presented with a lovely starter of yoghurt dip, potato salad, aubergines, bread and a mixed salad. They don’t charge for this, which is good because I actually wanted to order most of those plates as part of my meal so I saved quite a bit of money. The lunchtime shift was busy with some office people having a quick bite to eat before going back to work so service efficiency was the priority. I have been there for takeaways in the past but it was quite pleasant staying there for a meal, shame it’s such a hot day today and they have no garden.

It is hard to walk around certain parts of London without seeing a Turkish restaurant. Turkish food tends to be large in size and small in price. Unless your going to an upper class one. Being half Turkish and visiting the land at least twice a year, I have had a lot of experience i Turksih cuisine and think I know what a good tasting Turkish meal is. So I am very critical of Turkish restaurants. There are so many Turkish restaurants around me in North London, Aksula is one of them and is popular with the locals of Palmers Green, it is always packed. The food is okay, and the service is nothing to rant and rave about. Ive eaten there a few times, and would never recommend it as i feel there are much better ones in the local vicinity, but it is always nice to get that complimentary tea and baklava when you ask for the bill.
