Just moved to London from L.A. Didn’t know where to go to get this 3a/b frizzy/curly hair done. Read the reviews online and 3Thirty kept coming up, and they were close to where I live, so I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. Tiff did my hair, and I am very happy with the results. My motto for curly hair is, «do no harm» because I have had some really bad salon experiences… until I met my girl Melissa in Pasadena. but I don’t have access to her anymore. I knew once Tiff started cutting my hair that she knew what she was doing. Curly hair cutting is all about the shape and releasing the curls. Once it gets too long, the curls start getting weighed down, so a skilled haircutter knows how to keep the length but release some of the hair’s weight. i also had a touchup on my color. I’m very happy with the results. I think I found my salon in London.

My stylist, Mya, was amazing, really friendly and patient. I went there to get another stylist’s coloring mistake fixed. Mya did a great job of helping me choose a color and it looks fantastic. As far as the salon, it is very clean and the staff is very attentive. Even though they were busy, I never had to wait for service.

I had an absolutely perfect haircut and diffuse dry with Maya a few weeks ago… and this from someone who tends to leave hair salons skeptical at best or in quiet tears at worst. No, no, Unilocalers, I was all smiles. I’m sure this salon is open to everyone, but curly hair is where they really shine. Finding a salon that knows their way around curly hair is FANTASTIC because curly hair has it’s own particular biological needs. Not only that, but it also varies in character from day to day, depending on the weather, the humidity, whether you washed it recently, its mood… I was so impressed with how much Maya wanted to understand my kind of curl; not just today, but also in general. She had me pull out my phone and troll through facebook to find good hair day and bad hair day pics. «Oh, I can get your hair curlier than that.» she tells me when I show her a good hair day pic. And she totally did. This hair cut made me feel like WTF have I been doing with my hair all this time? It was shaped and layered and styled, and felt light and healthy. I also got some solid tips to take home: 1. Shampoo as little as possible — I knowwww but it feels so good when it’s clean 2. Moroccan oil to hydrate — on it 3. A light, non-sticky mousse for hold — a welcome addition to the rotation 4. Diffuse dry upside down, or from below while reclined /laying down on the corner of your bed — oh, hello! Maya and I originally disagreed on the air dry vs diffuse dry debate. I’ll fully admit that I’m low maintenance(lazy) and usually opt for an air dry, but I: loved: the way my curls came out after drying them ~60−70% of the way with a diffuser. I left feeling amazing and all for a reasonable price. I think I paid ~56 quid for top notch service.

I have spent MONTHS looking for salons in London that specialise in curly hair. This is for three reasons: 1. Curly hair needs a specialist 2. I have no idea of what i’m doing 3. I wanted to get highlights and read that it could damage curls if not carried out correctly! FINALLY, I stumbled across 3thirty hair, I read great reviews and decided to book a free consultation. I went to the salon and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who asked if I wanted a tea/coffee water — great start. Then I met with Tiff who is the owner of the salon. We sat down and she then went into great detail about my hair; how to manage it, maintaining /improving its condition, protective styling, what products I should be using and how often… she has a great deal of knowledge on curly hair! She told me to have a think about what we discussed and if I was interested to book an appointment for her to give my hair a treatment and show me how to use the products she recommends. However because she was so knowledgable and lovely I was confident enough to book an appointment for half head of highlights and a trim! So, I turn up a little nervous about entrusting my curls to this lovely stranger! I’m greeted once again by the friendly receptionist who promptly takes my coat and offers me a hot beverage and biscuits — great at 10am! Tiff greets me warmly and asks me if I know what colours or style I want. I stare blankly at her, she smiles and proceeds to get the colour charts. She talks about the different colours she recommends I use and how she will mix and blend them. She asks if that sounds good and I say yes. Back to reason number 2 of going there… I have no idea of what i’m doing! She then gets to work highlighting my hair here and there, and had two other stylists mixing the dye and preparing the foil. I have a quick nap while I wait for the dye to take effect, when I wake up there is a fresh tea waiting for me… it’s the little things! On to washing /conditioning my hair, great job and a great head massage that almost sent me back to sleep! Tiff then proceeds to trim my hair whilst wet. She shows me in a mirror how she is going to shape my hair whilst retaining length. Back to the sink for another rinse and then Tiff talks me through applying curly hair products for my hair type. She puts the products in my hair and then diffuses it. 2 hours 15 minutes after I walked in Tiff shows me the finished look and I could not stop grinning at my reflection! The curls, shape and colour were amazing and I couldn’t have been happier. I’ve found my new hair stylist!

I’ve been going to 3thifty for over a year now. Nikki, my hairdresser, is a lovely London lass. But don’t be misled by this down-to-earth girl, she’s straight with you when it comes to styling your hair. If something is not going to work she’ll let you know. She won’t go along with any crazy style ideas you have if it’s really not right for you. She’s a brave girl too. When I first turned up at the salon I had long, long hair and I wanted a change. So, Nikki cut it short. That’s a pretty courageous thing to do for a hairdresser, they’re often scared to cut long hair short. The salon is nice too, decorated in that trend for baroque decadence. The other staff are pleasant and friendly. But here’s the clincher — for a London Salon, it’s really affordable. And they have good offers too! 10% off if you book in advance and 20% off if you book a Wednesday. Go check out their website for more info.

I took my daughter here after searching high and low for the past 6 years for a hairdresser who can cut her curly mixed race hair and I couldn’t be more pleased! Her hair was cut by Nikki a stylist who really showed she knew what to do with her type of hair. She treated my daughter like a little princess, the cut looks beautiful and I’m delghted I’ve finally found this salon.

I’ve been to 3thirty a few times for full/half head of colour. The girl who does my hair is lovely, really friendly and does a really nice job and a great blowdry. I find the prices very good for London and the salon has a friendly, relaxed atmostphere. Would recommend.

I went to this place today and really enjoyed it. Lovely sparkling water to start, super lovely staff who didn’t chat too much(a pet hate of mine!) and cut my hair exactly as I needed. Would totally recommend them.
