This is a really nice place in the middle of the business end of the city to have lunch or a quick bite. Surrounded by Starbucks and Costas this café is simply that: a café. It’s location is down what first appears to be an alley but is actually a quiet mini pedestrian avenue, and the architecture is lovely down here. The café itself is clean, bright and quiet. There is a downstairs seating place too in case upstairs gets too crowded, which it sometimes does at the rush hour lunch time. When I say quiet, I mean nobody speaks above a murmur, but this in itself is quite nice. The food is also good — nice, homely things like soup and sandwiches and salads that are made with care, not a bunch of lettuce leaves drowned in vinaigrette. All in all, an oasis in centre of commerce, a nice place for a quiet lunch, and fairly inexpensive given its location.
