A very lovely bar, great when it’s sunny with a lovely beer garden overlooking the wonderful refit of chavass park…
I say wonderful, what I mean is the change from a unique place for folk to enjoy a sunny day into a generic city garden, in one way it is a shame, in another it is very pretty…
So yeah, beer garden overlooking the gentrification of Liverpool city centre and pay £4 for a Carlsberg and it is very simply a nice place to sit… Nothing special, but pretty nice, tbh.

I was highly disappointed by this pub. Before visiting Liverpool I reviewed some pubs and thought that this would be a nice place to go because it was on the CAMRA list and my husband enjoys ale. Well there is ale there, but the place doesn’t seem to know what it is — a pub, a cocktail bar, or something else. But more importantly it was dirty. It was late afternoon, not busy and my glass stuck to the table because it was so sticky. On the tables outside there was rubbish — cigarettes, limes, lemons (probably from drinks) on top of the tables and not cleaned up. I didn’t even finish my drink because there were gnats flying around and I just felt so uncomfortable. Not the biggest deal in the world — it’s just one drink, but they aren’t cheap there. However as I was only in Liverpool for a few days I didn’t want to waste anymore than 10 mins of my city break! There are so many more pubs and bars that are much much nicer than this one in Liverpool.

The Tavern on the Green provides a very nice kicked back setting to just lounge. As I was visiting some friends in Liverpool, we were in search of an establishment that provided a nice soft ambiance where we can catch up, actually hear each other, and have drinks. The Tavern on the Green provided this setting. It’s really a nice place to socialize and a far cry from a typical pub bar, or club you’ll find around the area. First impression is upscale wine bar, but it’s not. Tavern on the Green rovides a nice balance of bar, lounge, and coffee house which I would assume is dependent upon the time and day.
