Located on the ground floor of the new Hard Days Night Hotel, The Lounge Bar is an ideal place to relax with a paper and coffee /glass of wine. Elegantly decorated with comfy cream sofas and chocolate arm-chairs, it’s decorated with stylish black and white photos of The Beatles and other Merseybeat icons. The bar is illuminated by a large black and white photo of the Fab Four and friends jumping in the air and stocks a good range of hot and cold drinks, spirits, wine and champagne. The latter are all priced quite steeply but I’ve yet to find a hotel where the drinks aren’t expensive to extortionate! I only had two americanos so can’t comment on the food but noticed they sell muffins with egg or bacon for breakfast, light bites, salads and sharing platters for lunch and afternoon tea. Cream Teas are priced reasonably at £5.95 per person for scones, clotted cream, jam and tea whilst High Tea is £19.95 and includes scones, finger sandwiches, home-made cakes and a glass of champagne. Suffice to say, I’ll be going back…
