Masala Wok

This was the worst food I have had in my entire life, an indian buffet with only 3 types of curry which were absolutely awful. The chips were tasteless and very greasy and the chappatis were stone cold.
They also do chinese food which was also terrible, the service was rubbish and it took them 20 minutes to bring us 3 bottles of water and a pint of lager.
If possible I would give them minus 5.
4 people for a daytime buffet, 3 bottles of water and 1 pint of lager all coming to a grand total of £59. I wouldn’t go there again if it was free. What a rip off.

It is a difficult task fusing two different cuisines. It generally confuses the joe blogg consumer. However the step taken has to be admired and is very innovative. It is refreshing to see a refreshing change for once. At least they aren’t copying otehr buffets. The food was actually not the worst either.
The people that brought this joint to reality should be commended. I am sure there is a market for this cross fusion cuisine. Give it a try before you diss it I say.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous two reviews on this one.
When Masala Wok recently opened, it actually looked quite promising however they have unequivocally merged Indian and Chinese cuisine under one roof — nothing wrong with that, but attempting to do two-​in-​one has somehow backfired.
On the slightly positive side, the food is quite affordable and is eat as much as you like. Although, I would only advise a minimal concoction of curries and Chinese, which is more than enough! Respectively, the taste and atmosphere is quite bland and average.
There are much better buffet restaurants in town such as Red Hot World Buffet (L1) and Buffet Star just a couple minutes walk down Hanover Street.

Oh dear. The newish Buffet restaurant Masala Wok’s collision of Asian cuisines is rather ambitious to say the least. Unlike Red Hot World Buffet in L1 Masala Wok just fails to deliver. The food just looks miserable sat there as though it’s been there all day. What I had was flavourless and to be honest I didn’t want to go back for more, All you can eat or not!
The décor and the insides are all freshly refurbished but no one ever went to a restaurant to see the wallpaper did they!
Hmm. Mediocre at best, there are much better buffet joints in town where you can get mounds for your money. Quality and not just quantity needs to be found in this place!

Masala Wok Buffet attempts to be a buffet restaraunt which serves quality food of both Chinese and Indian genres. The problem here is that by trying so hard to corner both markets they are they are severely wide of the mark. The prices are reasonable but nothing exceptional saturday is £9.95 all day and sundays are priced £8.95 with a £3.50 offer for children. This is pretty standard fare in terms of price range for buffet restaraunts but I would hazard a guess that other restaraunts represent better value for money. The food is far from worth the price, the curries are all bland and taste pretty much the same and as for the chinese food there is very little available at all. The staff in Masala Wok seem hesitant and confused and the place seems to be in a state of mayhem with people coming and going from all angles.
I would like to say good things about Masala Wok but I have struggled to find any at all except maybe that the décor is tasteful and the seating comfortable but that is all.
Masala Wok is confused and tries far too hard to be something it is not, there is an imbalance in the number of dishes in each cuisine and what food there is available is poor quality. As much as I hate to say it I would recommend when you are on the hunt for a good eat in Liverpool avoid Masala Wok.
