Greggs

I used to work at this Greggs for two years and one thing I can say is that it follows strict rules on hygiene and health and safety rules, It was always clean. That’s why I buy from Greggs because I know what goes on in the food preparation and I have no complaints.

Ok, just so you know I’m not vegetarian so I have no axe to grind on that front but are people serious about this place? It’s gross with their heart attack in a bag sausage rolls. How much saturated fat can you consume in one go? Yuck.
As for the rest of it — how much meat and what sort of meat is there in their pasties for the price of them? They’re all frozen and just baked off. I guess it it goes to prove you are what you eat. What I don’t understand is that if there is a Satterthwaites nearby why wouldn’t you there instead?

Friendly efficient staff, always clean. Good variety of hot food such as pies, pastries and pizzas. They also do a good selction of sandwiches and have some healthy low fat versions. Their bread and cakes are lovely and they always have seasonal and themed ckes and gingerbreads for children. Their ovens are behind the counter and the kitchen is in clear view so you can see that the food is feshly made and baked, and they rarely run out of hot food. My favourite has to be the steak bake, filled with good quality ingredients and very tasty, although I dread to think about the calories! the shop is on the corner of South Road near the station so you can often park next to it and pop in quickly, watch out for the traffic wardens though!

I love Greggs, it is real comfort food and especially in the winter when its coldnothing beats a nice hot sausage roll. They do great dessert here to esp the ice buns and doughnuts.
I would totally recommend the chocolate sandwich cakes from greggs they are to dies for they have little chocolate buttons on top so look out for them.
The shop like most greggs is fairly small and you have to squeeze in there when its busy but it is a friendly place and the staff are always pleasant. The shop is always clean and tidy and i don’t have any problems buying food from there as i know t will be fine.
