Golden Empire is a Chinese eatery situated on the Prescott road and from the exterior I’d say it looks slightly more trustworthy than its competitors in the surrounding area. The problem is that this place turns out to be a disappointment just like so many of the Chinese takeaways which are dotted around the grand old city of Liverpool. Just like its rivals this place looks a tad shabby inside and the staff come across as more than a little bit abrupt and at times even rude. The prices are about standard also but can be considered pricey given the sometimes poor quality of the food served up to the customers. On the whole this place is just like so many of the below par takeaways which inhabit the city of Liverpool and it really is a crying shame because with a smidge more effort these places could transform into something to be proud of.

Ah yes The Golden Empire ofcourse… unfortunately if you were expecting something golden empirish you’ll be slightly dissappointed. This is affordable chinese cuisine rather than a grand gourmet fine dining experiance. As with most Chinese establishments sunday is a good day for a good deal, this place does not dissappoint. The Sunday Set Menu here is a steal at £10 per head which includes Duck Pancakes, boom boom why would you say no? The food and the service is very good excellent as is the change left in your pocket at the conclusion of your visit. Another happy camper diner you’ll be when all is said and done and you walk out of the golden empire. Hey why not have a gander in Newsham park and sit by the lake, like I did. Cest relaxement chamon!
