Motorway services are always expensive and the food mediocre and this is no exception. My lamb shank was actually excellent but the portion of vegetables was very mean. Pleasant enough and free wifi available.

Visited the Eat In restaurant at approximately 7.30 am. Not good. The person serving was most unwelcoming in fact I felt I had done something wrong just being there. I had breakfast in a bun and my daughter had sausage in a bun. The egg and tomato was ok the mushrooms were almost raw and the bacon both fatty and undercooked. The bun itself was ghastly. My daughter left half of her sausages and bun. On a positive not the coffee was plentiful and not too strong and was acceptable. The meal cost £12+. The restaurant looked ok if a bit empty. The rest of the building was shabby. I would not visit here again but the other diners who had the full breakfasts seemed happy enough.

Another yucky motorway services, the same as most other Welcome Breaks. Overpriced food, goods and petrol, and all fast food sort of stuff. I don’t know why you would go here when you could get off the motorway at J21 and literally 1 minutes drive away(you could not get lost here, just get off the roundabout at 3rd exit from Northbound, 1st Exit from Southbound) you have a huge out of town shopping centre with a foodcourt of far cheaper fast food alternatives, or sainsburys/asda/M&S for sandwiches etc. There is also a WH smiths for sweets and drinks and magazines and whatnot. If you want a nice relaxing stop for a coffee, you also have a borders book shop with a starbucks upstairs. The sainsbury’s and asda both have petrol stations with normal priced fuel, too.
