On my first visit the upstairs was empty, over half of the tables had food all over them! Doubt I’ll be visiting again any time soon! My wrap was really really hot but fries undercooked and slightly cold! The zingy burger has a kick!

One of the better takeaway restaurants in the city centre. Me and the other half popped in after a gig; I opted for the peri peri burger meal which came to £3.50, and he got an 8″ peri chicken pizza meal, which I think was £3.99. The burger was quite tasty and the chips were pretty good for a takeaway. I had a bite of my bf’s pizza and it was rather nice and tasted fresh. Not bad for a quick bite to eat!

Not bad chicken chips and Pepsi £2−50, won’t win any Michelin awards but cheap and fast is the name of the game here.

There are some days where you just want a fast bite, nothing fancy, just quick and easy. Yesterday was one of those such days. I had some spare time in town before meeting a friend and was feeling rather hungerish, and spotted Rajas gleaming next to the Grand Arcade, so stepped on in. The best way to describe it is that it’s been set up in a definitive fast-food style fashion; there’s a counter at the front with boards above detailing the cheap menu and seating dotted around the large glass windows. For a fast food emporium it’s certainly plushly done out, with some really fancy light fixtures and a gorgeous winding spiral stair case to the seating area upstairs.(Certainly not something I’d like to tackle after a few beers…) As for the food, you can expect all the usual suspects. Chicken pieces and chips, burgers, kebabs and pizzas are all on the menu and with one chicken piece being a mere 85p it’s pretty affordable. Of course, I suspect that means that the chicken isn’t free range… But it never is at a fast food establishment. I opted for a single chicken piece and chips and with a can of coke it came to the grand sum of £2.09. Wow, I don’t think I’ve actually eaten that much for that little anywhere else in Leeds. The fries were fab and the chicken piece was huge. Really huge, which is a total bargain. It wasn’t the best piece I’ve ever had though — the southern fried style batter wasn’t very seasoned or tasty — but the chicken was cooked reasonably! Sadly, there weren’t any forks available so I had to use my fingers, which wasn’t my favourite. I’m sure had it been the end of a big night out I’d not have noticed, but it’s not exactly a sit down meal style restaurant so, y’know. It wasn’t all that bad. The staff there were welcoming and friendly, and even let a lady’s young son(who wasn’t a customer) use the bathroom whilst I was there, which I thought was lovely. All in all I can see this being another place in which to grab something cheap, quick and badly greasy after a good night out. Being right near such stalwart booze providers as Mojo, Sandinista and the others, it’s in a great location. You won’t be bowled over, I suspect, but service is fast, friendly and cheap as chips.(Sorry. Couldn’t resist!)
