Maxi’s Rotisserie

Maxi’s Rotisserie is at the end of Butchers Row in the market (or at the beginning, depending on which way you come in). It sells a range of cooked and hot meats, which contrasts greatly to the raw version in all the others along the row. The windows are usually steamed up due to the contrast with the chilled shops along the corridor.
If you ask me, this place is great for making the rest of the row smell nicer than it could. Ok, so all the meat in the butchers is chilled, but the cooking smells from this place really does everyone else a favour. Probably because it reminds me of what you could have at the end of a cooking session.
Maxi’s is fine, in the same way that similar counters in superamrkets are fine. They have a market, those who do not fancy spending hours waiting on a roasting joint of meat. Be it the elderly or the lazy, there is always someone who could do with a rotisserie, in the same way fast food joints are useful.
What they do is grand, and the cooked meat cannot be sneered at, but as a keen cook, I would prefer to look for something I can cook myself.
