Although this is not my main supermarket, it is close to home and on my way home from work so when i need the odd item you would think you can nip in quickly and be home. OH no. There is never enough staff on the tills so if you have a few with full weeks shopping and you need one or 2 items you can still be waiting half hour. Also on one occassion after waiting a very long time, the manager went to the front to pay for his own bottle of water. Why was he not made to queue? I complained to be told he was busy… charming!!! Other than that some things are reasonably priced and think it owuld do a lot better if the service was quicker and friendly.

Carrots are sold at only 50 p here which is quite cheap for carrots, I found good prices for the apples here as well which i was happy about. Sunny Delight was also on offer at buy one get one free, some of the deals here were quite good and kept me happy. The downside was their is only 4 members of staff working here, 2 are cashiers and the other 2 are around the supermarket but its hard to find help with a lot of people around. I also noticed i paid up 3 p for each shopping bag, so if you are buying a lot of stuff from here the 3p cost can build up. Lidl however is quite on a lot of its good so you cant complain really.

I had my first ever Lidl experience last night. Me and my OH popped in to purchase some cheapy fireworks on the way home so I thought I’d have a quick browse whilst there. Overall I found the place a bit depressing, it was eerily quiet apart from a baby crying, no music or anything to make your shopping experience more pleasent. I don’t think it’s the type of place you can do your weekly shop but more the kind of place you can go to get cheap ingredients etc although I did notice they had lobster for £4.99 which I might just have to give ago although I fear I may end up will shell food poisoning after. I don’t think I’ll be venturing into this store anytime soon as it was a bit soul destroying but it was late at night and its probably more the area than the place itself so I won’t be ruling out going to another Lidl just yet so watch this space!

I am on the Lidl email list so they email me once a week to tell me of the exciting new bargains, like pink wine for £3.16(giggedy), and 8 cans of Carlsberg(500ml, not the baby ones) for £4.69(I jest you not). Today though they told me I could buy a bra for £2.99. I think I’ll pass on that one. UPDATE I have got a staple list of things I buy from Lidl now! Chorizo — £1.79 Avocados — 17p Antiwrinkle Cream with that Q10 stuff in(because I am old now) — £1.83 Wow the bargains just keep on coming
