I love this store because its independent and amazing!
I’ve even purchased guys clothes from here, the hoodies and T’s are really edgy and cool.
There ladies wear is beautiful especially the dresses, if your looking for something with wowzer factor then this one is definitely for you. I would say that you need to have a pretty smoking body to pull off allot of the dresses but the t’shirts, skirts and trousers are equally awesome and can be worn by all!
It’s a little pricey but cost is not always an option when your going to stand out from every other individual in the street which I love love love. Beautifully designed and gorgeously finished garments is what you shall have, which have been created locally in our lovely city of Leeds, something that holds quality and has is no copy or rip off design.
I also love the little logo on each design its cool.
Great fabrics and gear that will last for years to come.

I couldn’t begin to rate this fantastic independent more highly. Firstly, for blokes, it’s got a fantastic range of clothing that capture some of the latest styles, and yet move away from the standard-​if you’re looking for something a little edgy and a little different to the identikit t-​shirt fashion of the mid-​range labels, you’ve got to bob in to ETTO Boutique.
However, I am not a man. And I come here for the divine designers that cater to the feminine shapes, and do so with such individuality and flair. Alex Christopher and Blond and Wise are amongst solid favourites, with each and every piece seeming to have been hand crafted, tailored to perfection and utterly unique. You won’t find the usual in this ultra friendly, ultra fashionable shop; know that a purchase in here will set you apart from the highstreet and even the high end. You’ll be something else entirely, and that something can only be described as matchless.
For the ladies, it’s not a cheap venture to delve into their garmentry. Dresses come in at around the £120 mark, but let’s consider what you’re paying for. You’re not paying for something that will be sold umpteen times over, and that every second person on the street will be seen in. You’re not paying for something mass produced, in a factory somewhere. You’re not paying for something substandard that will fall apart in a few months, or years. You’re paying for something that has been designed locally, crafted with love and creativity, and that money (the way I think of it) is going back into the hands of talented local artists. Yes, I compared it to fine art. And what? I imagine it took a similar amount of years to study and develop such skill.
Stepping off the soap box, for a moment, and focusing on simply the threads, I couldn’t be more delighted with my new coat. It was probably the most expensive item of dress that I’ve ever saved up for, but every penny was worth it. It’s somewhere between steam punk and Victoriana, as people have described to me, but which ever way you paint it I’ve never seen anything like it. Apparently I look like some kind of debonair inspector, and that’s no bad thing as far as I’m concerned. My knew wrap dress is equally kitsch and fabulous, with a sort of fifties flair to the skirt, large waist ribbon and it’s reversible, depending on whether you wish for a high neck or low neck. It’s also in the most amazing navy and green tartan.
As I’ve already declared to the Twittersphere, I’m tempted to have the coat permanently sewn to my body. (Yep, you can tweet them at @ETTOBoutique.) Of course, as with these things and with the name, it’s each to their own. But I think I’ve found my home for fashion, and in spite of the cost, I know the most prized items in my wardrobe shall be sourced from here.
… Just once every six months, perhaps. I implore you, if even just for a browse, wander in and gaze at the clothing. The staff are some of the best I’ve come across in retail: patient, friendly and full of banter, and there’s never any hint of pressure to buy. (I’m sure they’re used to me gazing longingly by now.) Basically, it’s incredible. Check ‘em oot.

An exciting new addition to the independent label scene in Leeds, Each To their Own have opened a branch on Duncan Street, following their success of their Sheffield based flagship store. A better job could not have been done in creating an attractive décor. Exposed brickwork, boldly patterned wallpaper and dramatic baroque mirrors suggests an underlying confidence in the quality of their clothes.
Catering for both men and women, the garments are mainly designed by Alex, the owner of the shop. He speaks animatedly about his passion for fashion, the love and attention he puts into making the clothes is evident.
They have a funky style. There are some lovely dresses with gathered hems next to dressy racer back t-​shirts; some sheer, floral camis for bed, next to some knee-​skimming low crouched trousers.
Originality created by independent designers does slightly increase the price of the garments, but that is an inevitable consequence. Let us unite to support local talent such as this, against the constant onslaught of chain shop mediocrity.

This little boutiquey shop is probably in a slightly unfortunate place as I have a feeling not many people frequent that side of Duncan Street (opposite the big Oxfam). I noticed it pop up relatively recently… probably less than a year ago (though I have a poor sense of time!). It is über fashioney and would appeal to people who like to dress in unusual and striking clothing with a unique look.
It’s a small shop selling both women’s and men’s clobber. Men’s stuff seems to specialise in giant collars and unusual fastenings as well as low-​crotch trousers with long ties knotted around the ankles. Women’s wear features similar trousers, some in vintage-​style hound’s tooth and cheques (which I love) and I like this slightly unisex edge to their offering. There are also quirky little waistcoats for women featuring leather buckle fastening as well as cute freeform tartan dresses and long confusing tops that you’d have to try on to figure out.
Prices are understandably higher than average high street as the shop features underground labels and fashion-​forward pieces… with trousers around £80. There is a lot of attention to detail in Each To Their Own as well as a love of unusual design and eccentricity, which unfortunately is often lacking in the often brand-​name centric offering of many Leeds’ clothing shops.

Each to their own is a new addition to the Leeds clothing scene with an exclusive, designer edge. The staff are very friendly and accommodating however my main issue is the price as most of the clothes I looked at were in the £65 range. The style is very All Saints as its quite young and urban. Everything is well presented and you don’t feel pressured while you are browsing. I also found some lower priced bodice/​leotards with cute prints on priced at £15. It’s not really my cup of tea but I’m sure there will be plenty of people that will like this shop.
