Have been for a meal a number of times and food was very good, but I do like to stop for a coffee when shopping in Morley.

I have to applaud the incredible leap of faith it took to open this kind of restaurant in Morley. High quality continental dining in an elegant atmosphere? In Morley? Well Cucina has pulled it off. If you’re looking for a great meal that doesn’t include chips, and you don’t feel like going off to Leeds Cucina is a great option. I(and anyone else who grew up in Morley) remember this as the old gas showroom but the space is now comfortable and sophisticated(I know you never thought you’d hear the words Morley and sophisticated in the same sentence did you?). During the day it’s a coffee bar where you can eat in or sit on the patio(even if it’s raining as it was on my recent visit… gasp imagine my surprise:-) One thing that Morley has in spades is friendly, warm people and everyone working in the place made us feel welcome. The food is excellent, made with fresh ingredients and complemented with a nice wine list One small tip to the owners, when the restaurant gets full it gets a tad loud, I would like to suggest the addition of a few soft surfaces like area rugs or couches that would absorb some of the sound. But all in all bravo!

It’s a wonderful thing breaking loose of the city centre. I don’t really do it often enough but I feel liberated. I obviously do need to get out more, but I find myself in Morley and a gaggle of friends in Cucina Café Bar. Morley isn’t really known for it’s wine bar and bistro culture so I’m pleasantly surprised to find such a corking Italian. Modern in design and an awesome outdoor terrace area, it’s a venue that stands out in the middle of the town. It’s a brilliant place to chin wag outside with a fine bottled beer or latte. Obviously, it’s a tad cold for that sort of behaviour at the moment so we sat inside and decided on what pizza to engage with. Now pizzas are a great thing but only when done well, so I held my judgement. I need not have bothered, top notch traditional pizza done like they should be. Sweet. I loved my calzoni and my meat feasting friends didn’t have a bad thing to say about the main steaks that were soon deposited in their grateful bellies. Now I’m starting to resemble Mr Blobby from my food fest binge-athon so I declined the lure of pudding but hell did they look good. As for the service, no complaints here. A gang of six of us were well looked after and left us to concentrate on enjoying our rather excellent conversations on when we rule the world. Incidentally, when we do I shall pass a law insisted that Friday’s become compulsory pizza days and I wouldn’t mind that involving Cucina one bit.

An increasingly popular name implying home-cooked, how-my-Nonna-used-to-make-it style Italian cuisine this swish looking, ultra-slick bistro has a popular following of the young and trendy of Morely. Serving decent enough food including: pizza, pasta, risotto, nice steak and sausage options(often part of daily specials) along with some vegetarian choices too. Grab a cup of coffee some lunch and this is an ideal spot to watch the high street plod along its day and have a long chat.

Cucina Café Bar and Restaurant stands out compared to it’s neighboring pubs and eateries. It looks very glossy and sophisticated from the outside with large glass windows and a large patio for outdoor seating. The inside is sleek and shiny with black and silver themed décor, low steel lighting, wooden floors and a very professional atmosphere. Personally it felt a bit too smart for my tastes, their is a serious lack of colour which made it feel a bit cold. The service was good, everything was done very professionally, however it did feel a bit forced and there wasn’t any smiling or much in the way of friendliness which left me feeling slightly unwelcome. The menu looks really nice with a range of European dishes. Pastas, Pizza and Salads plus a good range of fish dishes(including herb stuffed seabass! Yumm), and traditional meat and poultry dishes. The steaks have been very highly recommended by friends, although a bit out of my price range with the Prime Fillet Steak at £17.95. They also offer 2 Mid Week set menu’s which include 2 courses + glass of wine or coffee for £10(menu 1) or £15(menu 2), both menus look really good and I think you’ll agree that is a great offer not to be missed. They also do Sunday lunches from 12 — 3pm, and Sunday nights the place is transformed as they hold their weekly Salsa night which includes salsa dance classes, pizza and bar snacks, and drinks until 10.30pm.

Have noticed a shift towards more upmarket places in Morley –bars coffeee bars and restaurants and the pedestrianised area makes it ideal for alfresco chilled out Summer evening realxing time but in Morley? Can not imagine it goes down too well with the pit bull tattoo brigade especially the prices. I hope it works but I woudl go upmarker in Morley. Expensive considering the view of the post office.Co diners not local. Wrong market/wrong place.

I find Cuccina very expensive for what it is. If I’m going to spend £20-odd quid per head on a meal, I’d rather go into the centre of Leeds. It also seems to have been taken over by someone else — the salt and peppers pots and sugar containers have all been changed, and it’s lost a lot of its charm. However, still the only decent coffee shop in Morley.
