One star is way too much. If I have been happy with their products for the first years (I got my engagement and wedding ring with them in 2009) I started to lose diamonds off my eternity rings after three years. I then notice that my solitaire’s diamond was completely scratched. I brought it to a jeweler who, in 2 seconds, told me it was a cheap cubic zirconia. Every single statement on the website about the quality and fabrication of their stones is completely false. Do yourself a favor, if you want cubic zirconia, buy them for less than what they sell them. I paid $ 500 for two rings that were evaluated at less than $ 100. Total scam…

If you love sophisticated diamond-​encrusted jewellery you’ll love Carat. Carat has a range of styles from understated diamond studs to a little more ostentatious statement rings and bracelets. Each piece is hand-​crafted with a price tag to match!
Upon reading their brochure I’ve realised the ‘diamonds’ they use are are synthetically-​grown ‘diamond-​simulant (sic)’ jewels. Not that I pretend to understand what that really means. Though they hasten to add that many jewellers struggle to tell the difference between their diamonds and the real thing, and as quite the opposite of a diamond connoisseur, surprisingly I can’t either!
They also sell some more ‘youthful’ designs featuring spiders, teddies and bows as well as wedding jewellery.

Carat oozes with sophistication and class. It looks expensive, it is expensive and my god… it’s damn good!
The shop is fairly small but with a lot of shops within the Victoria Quarter — it has been decked out in all white, cream and bright lights. This really adds a kick to the already sparkling surroundings.
Carat describes itself as being more about fantasy than reality so a lot of the jewellery is costume and very, very luxurious.
They say that the pieces are ‘chosen rather than invested, and admired rather than showen off, but most importantly, worn rather than hidden in a safe.‘
I really like the companys whole take on jewellery and they really do have some very beautiful pieces in store.
I have my eye set on a dazzling Infinity Ruby ring. It’s mouted in 9k gold and looks absolutely stunning. It costs £245 so i better get saving!
It’s also lovely to visit such a prestigious shop and see that the staff are friendly and as willing to chat to you about their goods as they would be to miss moneybags. Just stunning.
