Aladdin’s Cave

My husband bought my engagement ring from Aladdin’s Cave. We live in Virginia, so the shop owner communicated with us over email and securely mailed the art deco beauty to us. The ring is gorgeous, unusual (unlike most engagement rings that look mass produced) and I feel like it was a great price.

This beautiful antique jewellery shop is completely spoilt by the ignorant, snooty manager.
I was searching everywhere for opal earrings for a birthday present and came across some beautiful ones in the window of this shop. I went inside to take a closer look to be glared at by the manager and ignored. Instead she decided to stick her head into the window display to act busy. There was another member of staff in the shop bur she was dealing with a customer so I went over to the lady with her head in the window to ask for assistance. She ignored me a few times but then turned round and looked me up and down before grunting «what do you want?»
Some decent service sprung to mind!
I asked if i could see the opal earrings and the manager shouted at the shop assistant to help me despite her already being tied up with customers. The shop assistant acknowledged me straight away and said she wouldn’t be long. The manager’s attitude really made me want to walk out and take my business else where but opal earrings where nowhere else to be found!
The shop assistant came over when she was free and took out the earrings for me to see. She was absolutely lovely and really helpful, she made friendly conversation and made me feel valued as a customer.
This shop is stunning and the pieces you find in here are truely beautiful but it is ruined by the appalling attitude of the manager. I think the best thing that could be done for this place is for the manager to be sent her p45 and be on her way.

The window of Aladdin’s Cave is packed with a vast mélange of jewellery. With a variety of styles on show, it does have a piratical feel and I was eager to explore the treasure.
The shop specialises in gold and silver antique jewellery, but they also have collections of jet, amber and various other stones. There appeared to be a massive disparity in the monetary value of the items displayed. Necklaces for £30 would be nestled unassumingly next to £700 rings, with some £100 stud earrings looking on.
The shop also stocks a number of more unusual items. Stopwatches and intricate brooches complete the haul in the window, I did hunt for a treasure map amongst them, but my search was fruitless.
Inside Aladdin’s Cave, there is a vast array of keepsake items, aside from jewellery. Collections of napkin rings, vases and thimbles are placed next to decorative boxes, compacts and photo frames. There was a rather beautifully crafted hip flask that really could have been used to quench Captain Jack’s rum soaked thirst.
There is an exciting hotchpotch of miscellaneous goods both in store and on their website. It is a great shop to inspect if you are in need of a special gift.

Aladdin’s Cave is quite like you’d imagine one to be — the contents of an ancient treasure chest arranged lovingly in glass cabinets, with each piece of jewellery glinting darkly and exuding an air of mystery! The range of jewellery is quite impressive — you could spend a long while gazing into the cabinets in wonderment and confusion! They stock many vintage and antique items, including china ornaments .
The staff are lovely and let me into the shop before they had properly opened. I was looking for something for my mum’s birthday and they were very helpful! They worked out her birth stone, showing me a few pieces that were appropriate, then knowledgeably talked me through a wide range of different jewellery of the type specified. Despite many items being really rather expensive, and not in a price range I could afford, the staff were very accommodating in showing me items near to my budget of a mere £30!
I would recommend Aladdin’s cave to anyone looking for an extra special good quality gift, and especially those with a bit of cash to spare.

Aladdin’s Cave is a jewellery store, selling both new and pre owned pieces, it also states in the advertising board that it deals in antiques too. Although maybe I missed something on that tangent, unless they were referring solely to antique jewellery. I was half expecting antique bureaus or some other form of furniture. Brand name conjures up Disney’s Aladdin in my mind, when in actuality, walking into Aladdin’s Cave reminds me more of Pirates of the Caribbean, I think it has something to do with the pocket watches. From what I understand the proprietors of Aladdin’s Cave have the rare proclamation to being a successful independent business for over 25 years, and it’s in keeping it family run and specialist, that the jewellery sourced for retail in Aladdin’s Cave is of top quality and condition, authenticated where possible. With the nature of Aladdin’s Cave comes variety, ornate is definitely a common theme with all the pieces, and there’s something of spectacular intricacy within each piece that’s been selected for display. Prices range from the inexpensive to the pay cheque consuming. The section on pocket watches fascinated me, and it’s interesting to hear about them from a person in the know, I was actually very surprised to learn of their value in accordance to intricacy and timepiece movement etc. That’s another plus point with this vintage jewellery store, each piece already has a slice of history attached to it, and the knowledge is there within the staff to share if you wish to hear it.

Aladdin’s Cave is most certainly like a treasure trove of exciting antique jewellery and other beautiful objects. Even looking into the window is pretty exciting, they always have wonderful window displays, with obvious care having gone into the presentation.
Inside it’s hard not to walk around cooing and ahhing at all the shiny gorgeous items within — ranging from antique rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, earrings, brooches and more. The shop is filled to burst and once you’ve gone in the name ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ makes total sense! They too, akin to most jewellers at the moment, will buy old gold and have a form on their website for customers to fill out with enquiries. Their website is beautifully designed too and is easy to browse.
Prices range from the 100s to the 1000s so bear that in mind when you go for a browse! Unless you are pretty flush it’s not very likely that you’ll be able to go for a huge shopping spree but it’s one of those to browse for future investments. Some really beautiful items to be found within!
