Penguin Cafe

There were six of us, and it was cold outside! We were going to another café for a cream tea but they were busy. We decided to go to the Penguin which is on the main road overlooking the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Do not be put off by the décor. As inside you will find a treasure house of good homemade wholesome food. The portions were good, and the tea and coffee came in decent size mugs. We had Cumberland sausage sandwiches, various pannini’s and topped it off with a large and one the best shop bought (home made) flap jacks. In the end we were glad that the other places were full and would go back there again without any hesitation. The prices were also reasonable and they had facilities for little ones.

Stopped with my Aunt for a Coffee on a hot Saturday late morning Aunt went into the shop, she said the cakes looked a bit dry, went for the a packet of Scottish Shortbread, it was not the best which we were surprised at as you are normally safe going for shortbread, as good. Maybe we were just fussy being Scottish. I was happy with my coffee latte, Aunt went for a tea.
There was quite a few people having breakfast, which looked good, plent too.
