Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would recommend avoiding this Vodafone store at all costs. This store seems to be far more concerned with arguing with customers, than providing any kind of meaningful service. Especially avoid Dania. She managed to turn what was a simple and minor oversight by her colleague, that should have been an easy thing to fix, into a much larger issue. This was all because she refused to listen, prefering instead to argue and(incorrectly) accuse me of causing the problem. The ironic thing is that, when I contacted customer service afterwards, they confirmed that Dania was wrong, and ended up offering a heavy discount to apologise for her conduct. Details are as follows: I visited the store to purchase more data for my pay-as-you-go mobile. The representative explained that I could purchase a 500mbdata pack for £5, and I confirmed that was what I wanted and asked him to action the purchase. Unfortunately, while he added £5 of credit to my account, he did not then add the 500mb pack. A few hours later, I received a text notification from vodafone stating that I was using casual data and suggesting that I purchase the £5500mb pack. This alerted me to the fact that the pack hadn’t been purchased, but by that time the casual data usage had taken my account below £5 so I couldn’t purchase the pack. I visited the store to confirm whether, as I suspected, the problem was that the $ 5 data pack hadn’t been added to my account as I had requested at the time of sale. Dania started by trying to explain that I couldn’t have purchased the data pack as I didn’t have sufficient credit, and simply wouldn’t listen when I tried to explain that I had been in the store only an hour earlier and had purchased sufficient credit for the pack, but the reason that I didn’t now have sufficient credit was because the person I had dealt with had mistakenly not purchased the data pack when he told me had. For whatever reason, she decided to go on the attack and started coming up with ludicrious explanations to justify the situation. For instance, she said that it had been purchased, but subsequently cancelled because I didn’t have funds. When I pointed out that I would have had funds if it had been purchased when I topped up, and that I never got the purchase confirmation text, and that it wasn’t on the receipt that I showed her she refused to back down and started getting angrier and angrier, coming up with more incorrect statements that just underscored the stupidity of her trying to blame me for the situation. For example, she tried to blame me for having so many apps open in the background on my phone that £5 of credit would have been automatically used between the time of top up and the purchase of the data pack(i.e. within 30 seconds). When I pointed out that there was no record of the pack purchase on my account, she tried to say that this was because Vodafone’s system didn’t keep any record of what services a customer buys! In the end, I was so embarrassed at getting yelled at and accused by Dania, and it was clear that it wasn’t going anywhere, so I just left the store. I then called customer service who understood quickly what had happened, and within 5 minutes refunded £2 pounds to my account in order to purchase the pack and fix the Islington stores mistake. Ironically, when I explained how badly I had been treated by Dania, they were so embarrassed by her conduct that they offered me a discounted rate for the next 12 months! So again — avoid Vodafone Islington, and especially Dania, at all costs. You will get terrible customer service here, and there are many other places you can go nearby that will sort your mobile issues much more quickly and painlessly.
