Very nice coffee shop: lots of light, kind staff, ample seating, good drinks. The pastries looked good too, though we didn’t try them. A lot of people come in to get coffees to go, but it’s an especially great place to sit and talk, work, or people watch.

Nanna’s I a cozy café close to Highbury and Islington. My intention that day, was to find a place with good wifi and comfortable. But I was also surprised by the quality of their food and coffee! Brunch, tea, lunch… you name it. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Can’t believe how long it’s taken me to discover this place, only across the street. Wonderful service, great quality and interesting(always changing menu) food — an absolute neighborhood gem and standout despite the number of quality cafes on St Paul’s Road. I’ll be coming here as often as possible and doubt it will get old!

Great atmosphere. The hot chocolate is fantastic. It comes in many flavors. Best I’ve ever had. Just moved nearby and will definitely be stopping in here many more times in the future!

Another quintessential coffee shop on Highbury Corner. One of the wonderful things about it is the laid back atmosphere; while that sounds typical for a coffee shop, Nanna’s is especially relaxing despite the amount of traffic. Street noise isn’t a bother like other cafés, and the large windows provide comfortable lighting. The variety in furniture suits groups as well as solo riders; dogs are allowed in too on a lead, and nothing beats a cute doggy being its adorable self. On the factual side, the menu is simple but there are drinks aplenty. «Toasties» are a favorite(£6), as well as the creative hot chocolates. I ordered the cinnamon rose hot chocolate, a sweet and spicy version of the classic. I also got an open face goat cheese and beetroot/spinach sandwich(£3). The latter came with a knife and fork, but I went all-American on it. Crunch, crunch, munch. Service is amicable and timely. I could strike up a conversation with the barista easily; not once did I get a bad vibe. What I recommend is to bring friends, your dog, and/or your laptop and chill out for awhile. as I walked out the door I found myself planning what to order next time!

Meant to go to Maison d’Etre but it was too crowded and we discovered this great spot. Food: We both got the weekend dish, a salmon with salad, tomato, crème freche, corn fritta thing that was delicious. All the flavors worked well together. We also split a bacon, apple toastie that was also very good but the salmon dish was the stand out. Ambiance: It’s got that warm cozy vibe without being overly run with hipsters and laptops. It’s great for catching up with a friend, or hanging out alone sipping your cappuccino and reading your New Yorker. Will be back again and add it to my list of favorites.
