Osterley Park Hotel

Habe mir eine Kurzreise vom 15. 17.11.11 nach London gegönnt. Für 156 Euro gings mit Germanwings von Köln/​Bonn nach Stansted und von dort nach Osterley ins Osterley Park Hotel.
Der Name des Hotels setzt sich wie folgt zusammen:
Osterley so heißt der Ort (Stadtteil am Rande Londons)
Park der ist irgendwo in der Nähe
Hotel nun ja, würde eher sagen Motel (siehe Fotos)
Das was man als erstes sieht, ist ein durchaus schmuckes Hotelgebäude, dass aber bei dem von mir entrichteten Preis für mich nicht infrage kam ;-) Deshalb bitte auf die anderen Fotos (Zimmer Nr. 13) konzentrieren. Die anderen Zimmer waren auch überwiegend von Dienstreisenden bewohnt.
Aber alles in allem wars ok, zwar nicht komfortabel, aber das Bett war in Ordnung, das Bad sauber und ein Tablett mit Kaffee, Tee und Keksen stand auch bereit. Das Personal an der Rezeption war ausgesprochen freundlich, das Restaurant und den im Hotelgebäude liegenden Pub kann ich nicht bewerten, da ich sie nicht aufgesucht habe.
Wer in der Nähe des Flughafen Heathrow ein Zimmerchen sucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben, da es von hier aus nur wenige Bahnstationen sind. Bis in die City von London (Victoria und Umgebung) sind allerdings gut 45 Minuten einzuplanen.
Von und nach Stansted hats mehr als 2 Stunden gedauert, weswegen ich trotz noch so günstiger Preise den Weg nach Osterley nicht mehr antreten werde.

First of all, this is in a «dodgy» part of London. It doesn’t really seem dangerous (especially considering it’s in the UK, and the crime doesn’t even compare to the US) but it is known for not being a very nice area. It is run by Indians and there were Indian celebrations every night at the hotel (a wedding one night).
If you are looking for luxury, this isn’t the place for you. The room and bathroom are basic. The TV only has a couple channels, there is only a small kettle and a few mugs for coffee, and there’s no luxury soap or shampoo in the bathroom. However, the bed was HUGE (2 twin beds put together because you could feel the line in the middle), the sheets were nice and clean, and the room was overall quite clean (something that you usually have to worry about with cheaper hotels/​bad areas).
It is absolutely NOT worth their posted prices (119 pounds for a single night, which is about $ 200 right now). However, I booked this hotel on Orbitz for 41 pounds per night (about $ 60) which is FABULOUS for the London area.
I was grateful for a clean place to sleep near London. It is near an Underground station, Heathrow airport, and major highways, so transportation is fairly easy. However, make sure you lock your car and don’t expect to get any perks or luxury extras.
