Chiquito

Hull needs a good honest Mexican, it really does because this place is so terrible I wouldn’t send Abu Hamza there. We arrived and was told there would be a 15 minute wait. So we had a drink at the bar. I thought it must be busy, but then I looked around and half the seats were empty. I presume we had to wait as they were understaffed. When we got seated we then waited an age to get served. I love fajitas I really do but the chicken was so tough I couldn’t chew it and had to spit it out. When the waitress asked if everything was okay I had to explain why it was so wrong. She said I can have 20% off my dish?! 20%? I couldn’t eat it. So ended up in a weird bartaring exchange, I had to laugh to myself, ended up at 50%. If you can’t eat a dish you shouldn’t have to pay anything. I’ve tried this place twice, never again. Chiquitos need to sort out the service and take a long hard look at themself.

Went for meal here about 6 months ago and found the portions were much smaller than when we had previously visited. Quite enjoyable but felt a bit ripped off!

Dreadful service — absolutely appalling! The Manager is rude to the point where I wanted to slap her. Rubbish, deep fried, pre-​cooked food, over priced, totally un-​authentic. NO! Hulls needs a good Mexican restaurant — that one on Lowgate is almost as bad as Chiquito’s

I’ve eaten at quite a few Chiquitos, but tend to avoid this one as it’s not the best. I’ve been there probably half a dozen times and had mixed experiences.
The main menu is overpriced, but the lunchtime menu represents pretty good value for money and that’s when I would usually go there. They change the items from time to time, but they always seem to take the best bits off!
Service at the Hull restaurant is mixed — I remember arriving one night on my birthday, heavily pregnant, and being told there was no room at the inn. Fair enough, but they were so miserable about it! On other occasions the food has been poor/​burnt/​cold. Not all bad though, as I have had decent meals there too — it’s the bad that always sticks in the mind though!
They’ve got the most awful migraine-​inspiring overhead lights above some of the tables as wellif you go, please point these out to them. If enough of us complain they might actually take notice. Or maybe not.
And the car park is a nightmare! Not enough spaces, too much wasted space.

We have visited here several times and each time we came here, the staff service was very poor and it wasnt even busy,
the menu had a nice and good selection, but was cold when it reached me, and my partrens chicken was undercooked its prices are expensive which is ok, if you are paying for a high quality meal but its not worth paying for something you didnt enjoy, service that was poor and an icy atmosphere

Good for a night out. Mostly hen and birthday parties on the weekend but the tables are well staffed and food arrives quickly. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is good but I would not come here for a romantic night. It is loud and typical of mexican dining. The food is samey and although ok, I wouldnt rave about it.
Most diners were under 25 when we went so it was a very lively night. Great if you fancy letting your hair down.

Possibly the best BBQ chicken around, great atmosphere great service, great night out

nice amiance, nice food, small portions though and very expensive for the amount you got, could imagine nice place for a group of ppl, but a big hole will develope in the wallet, wont go back, as plenty of places with better food and good value for ££ in the hull area. especially italian and thai xmx

Not impressed with this chain run or franchised restaurant, but then some would disagree.
OVER PRICED. UNDERSTAFFED AND BADLY RUN
I would suggest the local chippies up the road rather than this.
