This is really to second and agree with all of the things that Matt has previously said about Discovery Bay. I remember when Discovery Bay used to be the secondary Rocks Off store, and I thought of that very fondly, I was gutted when it closed down, but when I got word of a Caribbean restaurant opening up in it’s place I was curious more than anything else. Then I was hungry. A few of my work mates had been for a visit and urged me to go, the only trouble was, initially getting a specific time to eat. No one really knew what Discovery Bay’s opening times were. Now I believe Discovery Bay operates as an evening eatery only. What is there to love about Discovery Bay? It’s wholesome hearty tasty gorgeous food in an environment that’s more comfortable than it ever could be pretentious. The food isn’t cheap, but you don’t expect it to be, because it’s absolutely gorgeous food. If you can manage to book a table, the latest press and chef attention of Mr Ramsey and Mr Rhodes has packed out the bookings at Discovery Bay, but if you can get a table between 5 and 6.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, then you can get three gorgeous courses for £12.95 a head which is a bloody bargain to be frank.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is gorgeous, and the staff are lovely. Altogether it makes for a fabulous experience.
