2nd to none! Heard very good things about Wolfies of hove and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! By far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Very friendly staff, fast service even when busy! No wonder all I’m hearing is great things about this place! Fish and chips how it should be done!

It’s a wonder that this Fish and Chip shop got an reward for good food. I tried this shop twice and the fish had nothing as a big shell of bread and inside nearly not well cocked and the chips oily and you had can do mash potatoes with them but very oily. The staff friendly but the question was why wiring gloves when going in their hairs, taking money, cleaning the nose etc… For me was it the second but last time …

I’m not the biggest fish and chips lover but these chips were absolute delicious ! Was recommended this place by the guy that painted the graffiti memorial for them down by London road, how much more Brighton style advertising could you get :) but yeah real clean place, good chips, not to greasy and friendly staff

Was not one of the best fish and chip shops I have been to; came in on a week night, and was clearly busy, the girl behind the counter had her hands full. We ordered fish and chips and battered sausage for take away. when we got home to eat, the fish and chips were soggy and the fish was very dry. The drive was only minutes away and normally when we grab fish and chips, it is never soggy when we get home. The battered sausage however was very crunchy and had great flavor. Maybe it was an off night.

Excellent food and wonderful friendly service. Proper hand cut freshly prepared chips. Very good light and crispy batter. Fresh and tasty cod. Amazing scampi. What’s not to love in this fantastic fish and chip shop.

This was possibly one of the nicest pieces of battered fish that I have ever had! I don’t come to Brighton all that often but I will now be making this place a regular stop off when I do! First fish joint that I have seen doing gluten free batter, and wow! It was incredible. Really crisp and very minimal oil! I chose to have battered skate and it was a really sizeable portion of fish, very meaty and very tasty. I barely had any chips in the end because of the portion size I received for the fish. They have just started a website which is fresh and very simple to use. I would advise only using this if you are not within walking distance because the customer service is excellent in store and they really look to interact with you. I wish there were more places like this, but if that were the case, it wouldn’t be quite as special. Overall, this is a must try fish and chips joint! :)

I’m pretty new to fish and chips shops so I’m not sure I’m in the best position to be writing a review of Wolfies, situated just down from Hove Train Station. However, my boyfriend is somewhat of a fish supper connoisseur and rates this place highly — as do my taste buds! Living just down the road I have had the great pleasure of trying Wolfies out on a couple of occasions, and have been impressed with the quality, flavour, price and friendliness of the team serving. Happy to help you choose between the plentiful fish options available, the staff are also quick to point out the provenance of each fish they sell, with the haddock I had most recently arriving fresh from the boat that morning. The fish itself is moist and flakey, encased in a light, crispy batter which is not in the least bit greasy. Chips are served in big portions(there’s no need to order large portions). White bait and scampi are also available, as are the synonymous mushy peas and pickled onions. I hear there’s a midweek lunch deal on offer too, so if you’re in the area there really is no excuse not to give this place a try!

Wolfies of Hove is a new fish and chip shop that opened Spring/Summer 2014. It’s conveniently a stone’s throw from Hove train station. It’s got a trendy black tiled frontage to the shop so is quite noticeable. Also noticeable is the queue of people constantly in the shop(which is always a great sign!) and the very tempting whaft of fish and chips as you walk past. It’s trendy and tempting, and actually looks pretty classy for a fish and chip shop. So I have been here 3 times in the last 3 or so months. I was lured in by the sign saying homemade pies. A very nice change to the bog standard ‘pucker’ pie. Admittedly I have eaten the chicken and mushroom pie everytime and not tried their steak and ale, or steak and kidney. On appearance the pie looks a little anaemic, but boy the taste is gooood. Hence having eaten it 3 times. So much nicer being homemade and at a reasonable price of £2.50 for their pies. Chips are £1.50/£2. Quite frankly the small portion is very generous and I’d never get through a larger portion. The chips are good too. Again they may look a little pale, but no crispy bits that are too tough to eat, which is good by me. I can’t comment on the fish here, or sausages, or anything else as I haven’t strayed from my favourite pie. Maybe I should branch out… I’ll be back.
